SCCA Engine....

Hey guys- I am looking in the GCR as to what we can and cant do to these engines... however I am a little unclear as to what exactly are the limits to what we can do...

Can someone give me some insite into how much porting can or cannot be done? 1 inch port-match...what about inside the engine?

Am I reading the GCR correctly that no porting at all is allowed?

what class do you want to run in? that will make all the difference. In sm2 just about anything goes.

The IT7 rules follow the Improved Touring rules. No port match. Read the section that applies to rotary engines.

The Spec 7 rules are specific and more restrictive. Go to your region / division's site for the rules they use.

That is correct. If you read section D.2 (Rotary engines) you will note that they exclude Rule D.1.L, which allows port matching in piston engine.

So no port matching. And certainly no porting of the irons.

Production classes allow for porting, IIRC, but that's a whole 'nother level of bank account. ;-)
