RX7 Summit Point video

I raced at the MARRS 5 at Summit Point Motorsports Park, WV, this is a 2 mile 10 turn racetrack. This is the second race in the RX7 EP class and it was a great weekend. The first race I qualified 4th and finish 2. My goal was to improve my lap times and I did by dropping my laps time by 2 seconds. The second race I qualified first and ran up front for the hole race except the last 100 ft and the second place car powered by me. I played it to safe going thru turn 10 and I slowed down. I lost this race by less than a foot. So I finished second for both races.

I'm still running an 12a IT7 motor and trying to build a 13b. I ran 1:32:11 and I'm just getting the feel for this car. I think I can get it down to 1:29 with the stock 12a.

It seems pretty brutally slow on the straights. are you on stock gears?

I run 1:32s in my corolla on street tires, granted it probably does have quite a bit more power than your car (probably around ~160hp)

I'm running 4:88 rear and 13x225x45 tires. I'm at 7800 RPM in 5th gear before trun 1. I was told that this motor is putting out around 110 HP. I hope to put it on a dyno to see what HP it is making.

Can I ask what your suspension set-up is?

Spring rates, shocks, panhard bar etc....

I have not checked the spring weight, I only had two races on this car. The car was setup as an ITA/7 and I'm trying to turn it into an EP. I'm runing 2.5 deg camber on the front with 1/8 toein. For the weight I have 51%front 49%back and52% left side and 48% rightside for a total 2150 lbs. I have move the battery to the back right helped out alot. I have an prod body airdam and I going to replace the (40lb) hood with a prod body hood (7lbs). It is not real fast yet, working on setup before I build an 13b EP motor.
What needs to be done;
1. panhard bar/tri link
2. wide body
3. offset wheel
4. 13b Street Port
5. replace front and rear glass with lexan
6. new suspension
7. try to remove another 200+ lbs (not sure if this can be done)
