Luckily the previous owner had spare bodywork. We acquired the nose and tail section for a reasonable price and he found a deal on the shipping. |

We were able to contact the original builder of the car. Chassis Dynamics built many of the top IMSA chassis in the 80's and 90's and made this car in 1990. They are still around and amazingly still had the blueprints of the chassis. They built us a front clip which we will attach at a local race car shop. |

The next step was to take the car to Specialty Engineering in Delta , BC. They are a race shop specializing in roadracing but able to work on anything you can dream up. Their hand built in house tube frame chassis have won several SCCA National championships. While the car was there I had them clean up the rear suspension , add the electric power steering, and set the bump steer. The crashbox was set at a slight angle to increase downforce. |

Specialty Engineering is a clean bright and all in one place. They can handle machining, engines, suspension design and more. They have a web site showing some amazing builds. In regards to the pick up points of the suspension 1/16 of an inch variance was considered way too much! |

Once the car was back home we stripped it and will repaint the front and rear chassis a period correct factory mazda blue |

Specialty engineering also sourced a sheet of aircraft aluminum to replace the beat up steel floor. It will be lighter and stronger. We used the old floor as a pattern for the 200 plus rivets. |

https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...1a1a3fd5b.jpegThe next step was to fabricate a lot of little things. We built a header from 321 ss . Ideal length 9-14 inches for pp engines. Both radiator were made with identical ends for easy replacement. Muffler mounts , throttle cable and numerous other items were fabricated.

Hi Wouter,
Nice work here. I am curious about the side mounted alternator on this car. I've seen many kits that locate the alternator on the spark plug side, however there would be interference with the plumbing from the dry sump cover. Do you have any photos of your bracket that you would be willing to share? Regards, Guy |

Awesome build

+1 awesome car!

Very cool build. I like seeing the way race cars are put together.
Is there a tunnel that goes over the driveshaft? |

Neo is used by top race teams and was developed with Benneton during the 80s when f1 turbo engines were making over 1000 hp and previous cv grease was failing.
