Flight!!!

:bigthumb: Michael;
That looks like quite a ride! Good thing you didn't have a co-pilot; you'd have
a mess on your hands...LOL. Good thing you have a full cage now, made you
grow wings. Awesome pic for sure. I had the pleasure of placing 2nd in the
car show @ Summit Point this weekend with Mazda Drivers. Motorweek was
covering the event in honor of the 40th anniversary of the rotory engine.
Unfortunately; on my third run in the pouring azz rain I rounded turn 8 and
kept turning right into a jersey wall. Crunched my front bumper and trashed
my right oil cooler. Woulda race taped the front bumper and kept running but
couldn't find a fitting to bypass the bad oil cooler. Good news is; the car show was over before the crunch...LOL. Best to ya Bud!

Let's see, I spent the first half of my adult life flying Hang Gliders instead of going to school or making money, and no one will ever accuse me of making smart financial decisions.

Hell ya lets do it!

Well, I see alot of talk about tires in the "race car tech" section. In TTS, I have yet to see anyone come even close to the times I do with my Hoosiers. Other FD's or any other car on any other tire. Seems most are saying to compete with, or as good as Hoosiers.....NOT!

2007 NASA NORCAL TTS Champion. TTS track records at Infineon, Thunderhill and Llihrednuht.

2006 NASA NORCAL TTU Champion.

Impressive! Now take me for a ride next time you are up at Thunderhill! Lets see how you do with 200lbs. of dead weight in the passenger seat screaming bloody hell!

LOL.... The weight won't help, but that would not be the problem. The cage I have limits the passanger seat travel, if you are 6' plus, your knees will be up against the dash and your head will be in the roof:scared:

Hoosiers

Michael;

Are those the R6's? I ran a set of A6's for autocross and they did very well.
Just got a set of Kumho V710 for combo use, but I think they will get greasy on
me for track events. BTW; I'm gonna try to email you some pics, have been
busy lately and haven't had time to tinker on the computer.
Congratulations on your times there bud. You are kicking ass out there. You
need to come to the right coast and show us how it's done...LOL.

Regards,
Dave:icon_tup:

Hi Dave, I am running R6's. I have run the old A3 SO5's, never run A6's. I might try the A6's sometime next year. The older "A" compound stuck real well at first, but went away in a hurry, like at the end of the first lap. I hear the new "A's" are far superior. Not sure how much of all the tire stuff is track specific, we run tracks with average speeds from the low to middle eightys to low ninetys. Some long sweepers as well. All I know for sure is that Hoosiers have been very, very good to me:icon_tup: :icon_tup: :icon_tup:

As far as the "right coast" is concerned, you guys have some kick-ass tracks out there. Sounds like fun!!!

Look forward to seeing pics of your car:)

I'm thinking of selling the car..... Just had my second kid, now have a 21 month old and a 6 week old, man it's a lot of work. Just don't see running the car much, if at all any anytime soon. If anyone might be interested, let me know.

TIA,

-Michael
