the Racetech uses a back brace. the Top of the line Joie and Butler seats perform well but none take the type of impact that Racetech tests with. My friends Kirkey/ultrashield type aluminum seat literally broke at the weld allowing the belts to slip off his shoulders. this didn't kill him but would have given him some serious injuries if he had lived. Trust me don't cut corners and try and save a buck. If you must reduce the cost use an FIA seat and a right side window net as well as a HANS at all times. this should be the minimum price of admission to the track in my opinion. be safe

Tim which racer was your friend who passed away. He wasn't in the Factory 5 car was he?? I'm sorry to hear about your loss..

I daily one vehicle in a Cobra Imola II. While I have a Cobra Suzuka in my other fun car. I like the feel of both seats. Yes they do flex since the day I purchased them. AFAIK FIA expiration date are 5years I believe and possible extend to 7 with a brace. I have read different rule books but that was before some revisons so I'm unsure of what would be considered on par these days. I find myself liking the Japanese wraparound feel of seats Like those Juran models I posted or the FIA legal Bride seats. I notice I don't have the problem of lower leg blood circulation when sitting in sparco/recaro style.

no not the factory five racer. My friend Bill was killed at Buttonwillow about a year before the factory five driver. He was driving an ASC(essentially a late model stock car) car
