I was being nice but not automatically moving this to the For Sale section. Please don't make me change my mind.

Texas has a good number of Spec-7 cars running. That would definetly be a fun class to play in. Have you considered starting here while you build a car? Even if your not planning on being competitive the seat time would be beneficial.

If I added up all of the $ in my EP car plus running costs it would be well over $100k for the 6 seasons I raced it.
Now I hope this doesn’t scare you off and I wish you luck in getting you car done and on the track soon but please consider the knowledge and the value of the people that have "been there done that". We are not trying to get rich at this. That would be impossible. I do this because cubicles suck and this is what I love. Selling a race car is more an effort to recoup a small percentage of the fortune spent to build the car in the first place. As the old joke goes, “How doe you make a small fortune in racing? Start with a large one!

No offense taken. You said it, you guys have "been there done that", and I defer to your expertise. Hell I was thinking of a bolt in cage for $1,000. You just blew my budget. That Motec system is another budget blower. $75k is too much for this poor bean counter. I hear you on the cubicles, but I'm too far down the road now to do what I would love, what your doing. Maybe when I retire.

We have already jacked this thread, and it does have that race car theme, and therefore it belongs here in this section. (sorry Mike, and thanks Damon :)) For the record I have an ITA 1st gen that I ran last year(my first season in Club Racing, and BTW that car is still for sale).
Last summer I bought an EP car that had been an ITA car in it's former life. Big mistake on my part, what you would call a rookie mistake. I've been trying to turn it into a true EP car. The cage is just one problem. Even though I'm an accountant I'm scared as hell to add up what I've spent, and won't! I got a quote of $3500 to tear the cage out and redo. Ouch!

Anyway, I'm in a 3 way tie for 5th in EP. I would be higher but I've blown two engines, one of which caused a DNS. When someone says, "why aren't you more competitive", realistically the front runners are like you, they have been doing this for years, lots of seat time and lots of development.($$$$) Plus most are in the car business. The top EP driver in the Soudiv drives like a man posessed, with a car that he has developed over many years(I know he brought a new car to the runoffs last year). I qualified for the Runoffs but I'm not sure I want to go and get my ass kicked. I've got untill the 15th to decide.:)

Now someone buy this GT-3 car before Damon gets mad.;)

Getting back on track, Mike's car is a very serious machine. For the guy looking to get into racing or track driving, it would be like a booster rocket head start. Great thing about buying a car like this or any other competitive built car is that the only excuse the new owner will have is thier own driving ability. I guess that could be a bad thing too!

i have heard the RX-3 is no longer GT-3 legal? Any truth to that roumer? We had to park our car so we can re-body ours.

Yea it's true. Due to its areodyamic advantage, they banned the RX3. Thats why I decided to sell the car.

Thanks Mike... I'll have to ask Jim for details at SevenStock this year; him and Rick Ingman are the scheduled VIPs for this years event. The car looks great. Saw it at the run-offs before.

Btw, we'd love to have you and the car out for the SS event also.

Aerodynamic advantage.....newer cars like Celica look more slippery. Grill and headlights on Rx-3 are horizontal to ground.....

Nonetheless *damn nice car*.

He was joking. Several RX-3's run in GT-3. I never did see that in Fastrack, and the 3 is, as you say, far from areodynamic.:)

Still have the Vette and don't plan on letting it go just yet. Nice Rx3's will never get totally out of my system. I see you looking at one in Texas.
