I got antsy and put the front struts in last night. Yikes! I knew it would make a difference but I was not prepared for the extreme change it made. I still have to put the rear shocks in. Muwahahaha!!!
My membership at mazdaspeed was finally approved so I should be able to buy the suspension bushings next month.
I gotta say its been fun resurrecting this old FB even tho I've had to put 2 motors in the thing.

Hey sense we're on the topic of sway bars and SE's, A guy swore to me yesterday that if I took off my rear sway bar my car would be a lot easier to handle, he said this because I swapped a S5 turbo with a port. This seemed totally weird to me but I'm open for any thoughts on the matter

It reduces the oversteering tendancies. Some like it , some dont. Other factors affect your suspension setup so theres no one right asnswer to that question.

Removing it will make launch a bit better as it helps increase weight transfer to the rear.

It may launch better without the bar but it's most certainly not because of increased weight transfer to the rear. The sway bar has nothing to do with that.

As damon said, the improvement you speak of may be true but the anti-roll bar only effects weight transfer side to side.

Essentially with it on more weight will be transfered to the outside tire in a turn. This will in turn make the car more prone to oversteer than without it on.

So maybe what elron was meaning to say is that out of a turn you will have better traction without it. Which is true. However you may upset the balance of the car so that it now pushes like a pig and you can't get it to turn at all. It really depends on what spring rates you are running and how they balance the car. You are in ES so spring rates must remain stock. I think your best off to experiment with and without it. You only need to unhook one end from the body of the car to essentially disable it. So before an event get under the car and make sure the nuts are easily loosened and bring the tools you need to the grid area and unhook it between two of you runs. I would say run two with it then unhook it for the remainder of the runs. Only you can determine which will be better for you.

Thanks, Rob also told me that I only have to unhook one side to disable it so thats probably what'll do.
