Transmission

Ok guys I'm a little late with this information but here it is anyway. I April I went to the SEMA International Auto show in Los Angeles. I talked the U.S. distributor of O.S. Giken a Japanese transimission manufacture. They have two base transimissions for the FC and the FD each of which can handle up to 600hp.

This first has a 3 gear set, meaning the first 3 gears have a closer ratio than stock. It retails for $2000. This is probably great for a street application.

This second has a 5 gear set with all 5 gears having a closer ratio than stock. It retails for $2450. I can only guess that is would be better for some type of racing.

There are other gears options available but that just the general information. If you want to contact the distributor for information packet here's their information.

Hi,

Rohan Ambrose the owner and designer at Guru Racing will be at Sevenstock with the gearsets you have mentioned here as well as amany other products including the release of the newly designed/upgraded stationary gears.

He has also got a gearset at CTC in Texas and is in the process of setting up some US dealerships, so I suggest you go and have a look at the products as they are worth it! Much better than anything else on the market for the dollars!

That is why every front running improved production RX7 in Australia is running them or wanting too.

T5

I have a 13B PP and I use a T5 from a mustang gt.
It's no the best as far as close ration, but he did improve.
the best rear gear you can get for a turbo is 4.33. Alos you may want to run smaller tires.

myself I use a t5 from a mustang gt. It's a good tranny but if you want the best setup, I think a Jerrico it's the best for th money.
They make a light weight tranny too.

Tell me more about the T5 setup. What kind of bellhousing did you have to use? Swapping of imput shafts? Clutch setup?

Thanks,
-Jayson

Also, who has info on swapping the FB tranny into the FC? I know you have to switch the FC bellhousing and I think the shifter would be a bit off, but is there other complications?
