I have had a 150 in there for almost 4 months now with around 1500 miles and 40-50 starts with no trouble. I was keeping an eye on it for the first month or so but have since just let it go. There was no visible evidence of the fuse showing any signs of failure. I used to do a lot of work with car audio and have seen what happens to over drawn fuses. The 150 I've been using seems to be holding up just fine. I don't know how many amps the starter draws but it must be less than 150; and that's really all I need to know.

I'm fairly sure about where I want it located. Passenger side storage area. But, has anyone actually used the battery to corner weigh your car and find the best location for it?

If the battery is in the passenger compartment are we required to have it in a battery box or atleast covered?

This will be in my FP car for soloII only.

Although I never moved my battery I did quite a bit of research on this for my car.

For your car in FP I would put the battery on the passenger side floor pan just in front of where the hump for the storage boxes start. It is too much trouble to try and get a sealed box (SCCA mandated) in the contours of where the storage boxes go. And if you mount it on the shelf above the gas tank or in the spare tire well that puts the weight too high or too far back.

But be careful... If I rembmer correctly the SCCA GCR says the battery must be behind the rearmost seat in a hatch back. So depending on where your drivers seat is mounted it may not be able to go where I have suggested.
