Plan to run this 18x11j et12. With TCP wide body
Any one running 305 on the front ? Any mod to be done on body On my old set up 18x10 et20 with 285 the tire will rub on full lock ,but still do able on track Thanks for ur time |

I run 18x11 +45 with 295/30-18 Hankook Z221 Ventus TD (narrow tire) and 295/30-18 Toyo R888 (wide tire) front and rear on stock body rolled fenders. With TCP wide body you should be able to run 18x12 +30 with 305/30-18 easily- you will just have problems with the taller tire not from the width. Show the Japanese wide wheels/tires fit the FD (and this fitment also works on RX-8). |
Oh, I see you have the wrong offset wheels already.
Yes, this is the problem- Japanese don't make wide wheels in offsets that are useful for the FD- you have to get Chinese wheels. I used Forgestar F14- available up to 12" wide and any offset you want. My 18x11 are just under 22lbs and I quite strong and under $1,500 set. |
Hmmn, you are running a lot of negative camber... It might just work.
Use this site to show you the difference between old and new set-up. Online Wheel and Tyre Fitment Calculator. Offset, Tyre Stretch and Speedo Error | Will They Fit 18x11 +12 wheel would be 4.7mm closer to the inside wheel well than you old 18x10 +20, but tire looks to be in about the same spot on the inside (same amount of rub). |

I ran Hoosier 315's in the front and 335's in the rear. Hoosier is about as wide as you can get apples to apples. You will need to cut and re-weld your headlight frame to be able to go lock to lock. The only time I ever did that was in the paddock so it was never a deal breaker for me.
A few pictures for reference. First two are on 17x11, last one is 18x11 front: Attachment 616276 Attachment 616277 Attachment 616278 |

Hoosier is about as wide as you can get apples to apples. You will need to cut and re-weld your headlight frame to be able to go lock to lock. The only time I ever did that was in the paddock so it was never a deal breaker for me. The limit for front tire width on the FD is the attendant tire diameter since lower than 30 series sidewall tires are not readily available in 18" diameter. We are pretty much limited to 315/30-18 up front unless we start cutting unibody inboard of wheel mounting surface. If TCP car has that fitment you say and has enough negative camber for your purpose, you could run 18x13 +18 with 315/30-18 and have the same fitment to the outside fender and full steering lock at 25" to fender arch and full lock at lower heights as outlined by Brent. The outside edge of the tire will rub the plastic fender liner (if you still had it) while turning in front. You could run a wider tire if one were made in the requisite 25"-25.5" height. This is one reason I like RX-8 chassis, it fits 26.5" + front tire fine and same fitment/widths as FD. 335/30-18 just needs +40mm fender up front. |

Im running Volk Racing ZE40s 18 x 11, +15 all around with 315s Toyo r888 (which is actually closer to a 320 lol)
Had to modify the headlight area frame to clear lock to lock..... then widen the fronts and rear flares too.. Attachment 616233 Attachment 616234 |
Sexy set up!
Forgestar can get you up to 18x12 +25 for ~$1,500 (fits the same to fender as current set-up and clears suspension on inside), but they aren't as sexy as Volks. |

This is why you can get centerlock 18x13 Volk TE17 very cheap from JGTC teams used. They discard them before they start to crack. In USA teams usually drill a hole in the wheels so they can't be used for anything but display, but Japanese teams do not seem to do this. |

wutangben cast centers crack sooner than forged centers crack, and that is why you can get forged centerlock wheels for cheap from jgtc teams? You can get the very best most durable wheels cheap used because even these most durable wheels are used only for a short while for racing and then discarded before they start cracking. I'm sure the forgestars serve their purpose, but who names their non-forged wheel company forgestar? sigh.. Maybe they feared calling them RotaryForgedStar because rotaries have such a bad reputation for reliability? |
