22psi with stock MAP Sensor

I hace searched but not found an answer. I like my map as is now, but I'm only running 12 psi. I have purchased a GM map sensor but would rather not install it.

What I want to do is simply rescale my P19 to be 18psi and my P20 to be 22psi.
I know the stock MAP sensor is not accurate after 16psi, but can how dangerous is it to run 22psi on the stock map sensor.

I have seen so many people run 22psi on the stock MAP sensor.

good chance youll pop your motor... running 22psi takes more than changing your p20 row. stock map sensor wont read past 17ish psi.

The stock map sensor is good for 17-17.5 depending on it's condition.
I have calibrated a few. With stock scale/offset: 17 true psi = 4.814 PIM V
= 21389 PIM.

You could use P19 at a calibrated 17 and then set P20 for a calibrated 17.5 but use it for one higher boost level. The only thing is getting the fuel and timing correct.

I will be using this map for racing only. C16 gas and 4 degs less timing. I just don't want to install the GM Map now and have to rework my entire map just to boost over 16psi at the track for a few hours.

Is there an easy way to install the 3 bar GM map sensor and convert my existing map over without rewriting the entire thing.

well you can install the sensor easily, Banzai Racing sells the plug and play kit. Like anything else though, you may need to make some changes to your map afterwards.
