Turbo II-FB 03-16-05 09:02 PM

That is fucking awsome I love intresting swaps

GsrSol 03-17-05 12:07 AM

Very nice. Did you make the mounts yourself? Oh and nice coilovers too.

Mikey 03-17-05 12:22 AM

very nice!!!

cool.
are you running a sort of V-mount front setup there?
how did you do/figure out the mounts?
has it been a fun project or what?
I bet it'll be pretty damn reliable, those motors are tough!

chris_stampe 03-18-05 01:29 PM

is that why you did it, more reliability? Or were you needing a bit more torque?

yallgotboost 03-18-05 11:01 PM

I did all the welding/fab work. yes im running a v mount that was ont only way to fit the 26x20x3.5. The rad has a 16" fan on a cold day i cant even run the fan the motor runs so cool.... as for reliability eehhh i never had a problem with the 13bt loved the motor. Just the extra low end from the Sr helps its like a totally diff car. Ive built a turbo 350 rx7 that runs on alky. But if i had to pick from back when the 350 was NA the rotary or the sr i would hands down say the sr20. The power just feels right in the car like it was built for the motor. The car is a lil heavy in the rear now tho i have plans to get lexan hatch help get some weight off the rear. The sr20 lighter then the 13bt was by pretty good amount.

u sure about that....

I'm glad, with the FC, the brake lines are not right over the turbo, like they are in the 240.
I seen a lot of the 240 guys get boiled brakes from it.
Still, you may want to make some kind of shield, so you dont heat up the master cyl.

Yes im sure..... Think about how much cast iron is in a 13bt. I mean shit guys that swap in a ls1 just about make the car 50/50. When i pulled the rotary out the front of the car was very low couldnt get ur pinky between the tire and fender.... With the sr i can fit my whole hand between the tire and fender. The car rasied up a good 3 to 4"

The pictures kinda tricks you. If u look at it in person pretty good amount of room from the turbo to any brake part. But that was one of the things i planed on doing in the next few weeks. I just wanted to get the car out and driving to see if i even liked the sr20 in the car. Seems pretty good so far...... I might go back to rotary one day tho time will tell.

nice

the only thing i dont like is the heat soak your going to get on the intercooler. i understand it was a tight fit but you should at least make some kind of thermal barrier. other than that, very interesting. ,maybe a rb25 could be worthwhile. now also, did you use the nissan transmission with it or did you modify the bellhousing? also again, did use make a custom driveshaft and use the same rear end? i have two friends with SR20 240's so this interests me.
