i'd like to say , good work, for doing all that... it takes a lot of time and patience...
... but you should really learn how to fabricate metal and weld mate. those braces look like they got more welds than metal plate. and they look like they were designed without taking the thought of how forces will be applied to them. sorry, just had to say it. nice paint work though. i was looking into this thread cause theres an engine-less FC in my neighborhood being sold for real cheap, and i can get an rb25 with gbox etc for 1700 euros so i thought why not, but seeing that its a lot of trouble im having second thoughts... and from what i ve heard, FC's have even less engine space than fd's |
Your new rear end brace is orders of magnitude better than the old one. And, the welds look much better.

*shakes head*
Keep in mind the direction of forces on the differential with and without the PPF, and now the applied forces from the drive shaft. All this "torque multiplier" from the gearing doesn't change those directions. |

I think you are confusing yoshi's diff brace with the OP's:nod:
My rear-diff brace is the stock PPF chopped up and combined with some roll-cage piping material. - Thanks for the compliment though, Barban! :] P.S. I loooooooooooooooove the OP's choice of painting the valve covers red...Looks flippin' sa-weeeeeeeeeeeet!!! |
Arg that diff brace is just fucking wrong. Can be that hard to have another go...

You should probably begin by completely remounting the engine and getting a decent brace for the rear-end. |
Work area is pristine. Too bad about the car.
