There's a "Other Engines" section which might be more receptive to your queries...

Too heavy of an engine...
Not enough power potential...
Too hard to find parts...

7M-GTE is cheaper and easier to find parts.
2JZ-GTE will cost more but easier to find parts.

do what you would like the most... i would do the 1jz, 2jz, rb26 any day of the week... now im also a huge fan of the 20b. i would love to see someone do a 4 rotor with a gt42R and make huge power!!! but im unsure if it would fit?

is the 1jz a hard swap? and is it costly?

i hate to call you out one this, but no.

Too heavy of an engine... no, well maybe but thats what torque is for.

Not enough power potential... no. the 1jz will hold 500hp all day long on stock internals

Too hard to find parts... the 1jz and 2jz share lots of parts... like water pumps, headgaskets and other stuff.

--- not a strong motor at all..eats cams, heads and headgaskets all the time.

2JZ-GTE will cost more but easier to find parts.
---yeah. taller than the 1jz. heavier than the 1jz. more power potential that the 1jz.

hard.

costly.
--yes.

chances are if you are on here asking, this is not the swap for you.

inorder to keep the weight low and far back as possible I had to move the firewall back a substancual amount. mounts werent toooo bad but with the stock intake manifold you will run into issues with brake booster clearance...

i'll let you know how it rides when shes done..

So will a 7M-GTE and a 2JZ...

But not all...
"some" <> "all"
So you got some special connection to Japan to bring in all those special 1JZ parts that you can't get from a USA Toyota dealer?
