Anyone

I was wondering if any one has heard of the R26B rotary? And if so how many were made.

BuffDaddy915 09-12-05 06:16 PM

Which is why rotaries are banned from Lemans.

werd?

Ha, asking the STL people this ... of course they have no clue, hahaha.

R26B made 690 hp normally aspirated @ 9000 rpm. Rotaries are NOT banned from LeMans dufus, you can still run 3 or 4 rotors all you want. The problem is that piston tech has left behind rotary somewhat in the last 20 years, and you'd still be making the same amount of power from a 4 rotor. But the current BK Motorsports team is getting very competetive with a 3 rotor, which they've dubbed the R20B in LMP2 - and they're thinking of using a 4 rotor soon. But a 4 rotor is a heavy motor, believe it or not.

So can this be run in Nieruh? I'm thinking of going 2 legit.

Do you know what port they used to win lemans? I saw a 4 rotor project with a peripheral port in an fd. Theres specs on 4rotor.com. N/A 4 rotor- 9's ?

TonyTurboII 09-13-05 01:02 PM

It was a peripheral port, with intake runners that changed length depending on the engine speed.

It's for race wars???? Three rotors would be better if they can get that good reliable power out of one. Less rotational mass that way.

A four rotor running 9's? Why would you make a four rotor to run nines when you can pull a Jesus Padilla and use a N/A 13b to run nines?

That's still great though. If I ever come across a ton of money I want to build a four rotor using two 12a's, but I doubt that would happen.

if I ever get a ton of money I'm gonna design a 3 rotor that is made out of more aluminum than a mazda-made 3 rotor... thats a heavy ass motor.

actually if I ever get a ton of money I want it all in sigles and I'll meet you guys at Niagara Falls... SUNDOWNERS y0!

Why design one one when the parts are already readily available.
Racing Beat has aluminum side housings.
