I am building a 4g63 88 RX7as well. The motor gets a bad rap because of the 7 bolt version that has thrust bearing issues, usally due to a heavy duty clutch being installed. The 6 bolts are pretty bullet proof. The 150k motor in my Talon has 100's of passes and run's 12.30's on the stock tiny turbo

I also didn't like the way the wideblock sat at an angle when bolted to the bellhousing so I stood it straight up with the adapter plate.
So you're saying that even with B2600 bell housing the motor is gonna have to sit at an angle for the for the transmission/ shifter to be perfectly upright...Dammit, I was going to source a wide block 4g64 to used with a 2g head, so I can leave my other drivetrain parts as stock as possible.

Yes, the motor sits at an angle with the Wideblock and B2600 housing.

Hey Bean, I assume you used metric flat head socket bolt to mount your adapter to the block so to not interfere with the bellhousing. Did you convert your block to course thread or where the hell did you find the fine thread bolts?

I used tranmission bolts from a 1G DSM. We notched the bellhousing to clear the bolts.

Ok, I'll try that. I used some grade 8.8 hardware store bolt and they do have a bigger head. I was going to look at some cap head bolts and see if they would clear better without grinding.

Got the compressor cover powder coated and added Vibrants version on the wiggins clamp.

Firewall clearance:

Got the interior almost all back together and made a gauge plate for my Wideband and boost gauge:

Bought this shift boot on Ebay for $6 shipped. I was suprised that it actually fit and was nice.

I need to run the lines for the AC next week. Driving in the heat without it sucks.

I had some bumpsteer so I decided to raise the rack up instead of dropping the tie rods more then they already are. With some minor modifications to the oil filter housing I was able to raise the rack up over 1". I cut the subrame and modified it again on the car. I was also able to raise the sway bar 1" also which helped a lot with ground clearance. I need to get the car re aligned next week, make a trans/rear end brace, and then its time to dial in the traction control.

Wet sanded and buffed the car to get it ready for the Exedy booth this weekend at Formula D. Going to be another two weeks before my rims get here so for now I'm on the ones the car came with.

Got the air conditioning working on Friday. I also weighed the car at Englishtown this weekend. It weighed 2890lbs with me in it and a full tank of gas. Im guessing that with the Enkie RPF-1's on it and less then a 1/4 tank of gas I should be under 2800lbs with me in it which will be nice. I will weigh it again next month after the wheels are on it.

Finally got my rims. They are 17x10 in the rear and 17x9 in the front. I also changed my boost controller lines to -4an since the push lock ones I was using melted even though they were covered in the DEI fire sleeves.

The rack sits on top of it. Thats why you don't see it. The car feels really strong. I have taken a bunch of my buddys for rides that have 10 second street cars and they all have the same reaction..."damn this thing is fast"

Question and excuse my ignorance, have you ever seen a 4g63? They come from the factory with 400hp and stock pistons ,rods, crank can take easily 600. The 4g63 will withstand abuse more than most motors in the world wide market

Put the car back on the dyno for a retune. The car made 571whp/376ft-lbs. Cant wait for the warm weather to put the power to the ground.
