2jz swap

hi

i have a 94tt supra i am looking to buy a second car and i love the rx7 body. anyways
i heard there was a company in AUS that is selling a kit to put a 2jz in the FD and i am very interested in doing that. so if any one has the site address for the place to get the kit from i would be very greatful.
my email is stink_e@skunkbox.com and my aim s/n is nxt774
thank you

try using a search, it's not a kit, it's expensive, you can't afford it, www.spengineering.com did it, but they aren't wanting to do it agai

nxt774 08-12-03 10:27 PM

thank you for your post. but i think i can decide what i can and can't afford. i can do most the work myself so i am expecting to pay around 20-25k for the swap

do most of the work yourself and you're asking if there's a kit?

Id rather just leave a rotary in there, do a 20b swap.

Yeah, its extremely "gay" to have 700rwhp in a 2800lbs car! Geeezzz Mikey what are you thinking? Oh I know!! To have an amazing power to weight ratio without that nagging thought in the back of your head saying, " Please God dont let my engine break during this race! " .

best thread in awhile.lets see the subframe.never know engine might just be dumped on to lookgood.

20B Junkie 08-24-03 11:22 AM

Sorry about that lame remark.

Ok, well putting that engine into a RX-7 just takes away what makes the RX-7 so special.

If you don't know how to make more power from your rotary and your too big of a pussy to take your rotary engine further, then buy a supra or some V8 muscle car. Don't waste a perfectly good car and put some piston engine in it.

You could also swap in a bigger rotary (ie. 20B) 700rwhp isn't hard and it can be reliable.

I know that its your car blah, blah, but I just don't like the idea of piston engines in a rotary car.

Can we start a new thread? Maybe one where we can eliminate "lame remarks" ? Mikey is working hard on this project and deserves a good thread. If you dont like the idea 20BJunkie why post?

oh, and i did have quite an rx-7. it made 350 rwhp at 9psi on 93 gas. not bad for the turbo just starting to work. the car was strong! so i can say i had a powerful rx7. i have owned the car almost 5 years now...and i know a heck of a lot about the rotary. this is just something me and my buds wanted to do...so i gave up my car :-p and i can promise you i will be 100 times happier w/ it. like scottie said...w/ a supra engine, your chances are really good that you aren't going to pop the motor while having a little fun.

ludeowner 08-26-03 01:41 PM

Sweet!!!

You know I had been thinking about doing a V8 swap as one of my long term goals but the 2JZ swap has me interested in that.

If you dont mind me asking what are some of the things that you have to buy to make the swap work? and what are some of the major components that you had to fabricate yourself?

Do you have your own website or something where you outline your swaps progress?

Thanks

Mikey 08-28-03 08:42 AM

the website is on the way.... www.supraswap.com
