Wow that's some pretty serious chrome flaking. The car looks great, did you get the riser blocks you were after? Seems higher. Can I get first rights on this thing lol?

If your looking for a rx4 I have one for sale. 1974 Rx4 coupe white in color with original 13b. It does not run and need extensive body work and fabrication due to rust. DM me if your serious.
It has rusted floor boards and rocker panels. (Quarter panel is not rust it is paint stripper that did not work well)
Well I had owned a few dozens 1st and 2nd gen Rx7s. Had an Rx2 briefly and have kept my eyes out for some classic Mazda for awhile. Recently this 1974 Rx4 popped up locally and I had to have it.
Reman 13b in early 80s with 5 speed from Cosmo. Working on the tuning of the 48 IDA. May or may not have failing oil control rings, we shall see.
First things are sorting steering and suspension...
Your car would look swell riding beside my second Rx4
Oh no!!! Terrible news but luckily no injuries. Hopefully you'll be able to salvage the vehicle or at least some parts. Imo, I feel like there might be a frame shop who could tackle the job.
On a side note, you don't happen to be the gentleman who runs 'Winding Road Racing' at Thunderhill? Also has a yellow SA for sale. We had a really nice chat about all things rotary my last track day

Nope, not that particular gentlemen but I'd love a spark yellow SA!
All the local shops turned down the work. The firewall. Cowl, and frame damage is enough that essentially the costs are greater than anyone wants to do. I'm working to get the salvage from insurance, take a few bits then remove it to someone who can fix it or who can use it to save another rx4.
Then I'll be on the look out again. Honestly, the Rx4 was cool as he'll but pretty underwhelming to drive. I'll likely go rx7 or a differebt vintage rotary next time
So the car has been at the body shop for 1 year and they have no done anything to it at all. I may take it back from them and mothball the car in my shop until i can find a place to actually do the work.
Quick update for anyone following this thread. I have taken over the project of getting Alex's (now Jeff's) RX-4 back on the road. The good news is that Alex had already sourced many of the parts needed including a front clip. The bad news is that the engine and transmission have been removed and used for other projects. On the other hand, that means that I have the option of putting whatever I want in the car. Old school 13B, Turbo II, REW or even a Renesis. I have some time before I need to decide. For now, I am hunting for the front apron and the headlight buckets.
Happy to read that someone is still interested in putting this one back on the road. Having enjoyed a similar wreck in a different vintage car and sights like this are what keeps me from driving our old cars much. PP 13B FTW!!
