Are you going to have to trim that inner fender? In the picture it looks like the Upper A-Arms might hit when they cycle. Or maybe it's just the picture ...

The inner fenders are trimmed to fit. It does look close in the picture.

They are not on the truck if that is what your asking but yes i do have them.

Owned it for 10 years +. Worked on it probably year and a half ish. How much invested = well you can google the parts, they are all available.

Random question ... I am getting more serious about doing the Mustang II front end on my truck as well. My question is in regards to mounting the motor. I have an RE that I am building up as well and I am hoping to mount it like it mounts in the FD. Now as far as engine location from all the work that you have done on your truck how much more forward can you mount the engine without the FD oil pain hitting anything? do you think it's possible to move the engine more forward almost to where it would be stock? My truck really does not have rust and I don't want to cut up my firewall. So a goal of mine would be to get the motor to sit in the stock location.

Banzai Racing sells a low profile oil pan kit that I was eyeing to use with this setup to try and clear the front cross member.

( Technically my front end is not Mustang II ) I would need to know more info from you to be exact on my answer. Are you planning on trying the whole swap including cross member ( steering rack ) or just the suspension part?

If you preform the whole swap, there is miles of room. You can move it practically anywhere that you would want. It would just sit higher in the engine bay compared to mine to clear the cross member. Don't think of mine as of "that's where i had to put it". That's where i wanted it.

I thought for some reason you had a Mustang II front end. I just got done browsing CA Chassis Works website, and I was looking at the GM front clip which I am assuming is the one you got? But yeah I want to do the whole front end swap with new cross member and steering rack. And my only concern was the front cross-member, since I want to mount it like the FD I have to use the FD style oil pan so I can use those rear mounts. That's why the low profile oil pan is tempting to get as well.

I guess there really is only one way to find out :naughty:and that is just buck up and order the front end. I am hoping you can help me the dimensions or if you by any chance happen to still have your order info so I can send it to CA for the quote. Anyway thanks for your info and help on this.

This is what i purchased. If you order this kit you have to cut the frame in half and put the new parts on. There would be no reason to put the front cross member back on the truck. You can easily put the motor above the new cross member and it will be closer to the stock location to avoid all the snowballing issues. View the pictures above and see the process.

My dimensions will not help you. The truck comes (i dont remember the exact number width but i know its a ----1/2 inches) The kits only come in 1 inch increments, so you will need to decide on witch one you want. FYI: you will have to trim your inner finders to make this work.

I should just start putting frames together and selling them as bolt on swaps............. :ponder::ponder:
