car has been finished and registered in 2016, got the new engine registered aswell so it is all legal.
engine starts and runs fine, just needs some tuning.
and then life took a turn when i suddenly sold my apartment way sooner then expected.
we bought a new house, and i proposed to my girl and ofcourse she said yes!
last couple of months i have only been working in and around the house, havent even been to my garage in a while...
next week ill probably get the car out of storage to get it running well, so i can do a decent burnout on my wedding in July
has it really been nearly 8 years since i last visited here...
lots of stuff happened, first thing back then was use the RX-4 for my wedding!
been driving it everywhere, had multiple trackdays with it
has been featured in videos, magazines and newspapers
last year i had an event after winter storage where the car stalled, fired up right away and never sounded the same, something was off.
it started and drove pretty normal, but something wasn't right. at the end of the season i had the compression tested and it was missing compression on R2 on 2 faces.
the overall compression was also low, nothing surprising for an engine that had been rebuilt in 2002 and had done so much in all its years in my FC and then in the Rx-4
i stripped the engine, a cornerseal was stuck on R2
so, now I'm in the planning stage for a whole new setup, I'm ditching the carburetors for EFI.
engine wil be a half bridge, custom templates by Logan from Defined Autoworks. just like i always planned from the beginning
the intake will be quad ITB's i am currently designing in Fusion360.
some key features;
it will have 3d printed intake runners to be able to finetune the length, which i already basically calculated but maybe i can unlock some extra hp with some tweaks.
it will have true mechanical secondary throttle actuation, just like my Webers had (no vacuum or electric operation)
i am also working on variable length intake stacks, probably continuously variable by RPM
Sounds like a great plan! keep up updated and don't forget to share lots of pics!!

yeah its good to be back, although i never stopped working on the car, but the forums had been on the backburner
I'll share some stuff for the new setup when i think I'm ready for it, as it will be something i want to put to market as well when its all been developed.
in the meantime, enjoy some videos of the past years
design of the ITB intake setup is nearly finished to go into production!
and i will be building the engine next weekend so it'll be ready to go back in the car before the baby is born
