Building a R-100 for a customer , just received the car , I will be pulling off all the suspension front and back and start a mock up of parts and wheels we are gonna use .. the car is a California car that came with an electric conversion , yes the electric motor is coming out and will be replace with a 13B .

 

i would love to say now i've seen it all, but sadly, i'm sure i have not. please hurry up and safe this castrated rotary from the years of trauma and abuse it has suffered.

 

oh I will , trust me !!! Not going to be original but a real nice street car ..

 

wow this is the second r-100 that i have seen with an electric motor.......amazing. glad to see that the owner is giving it the proper motor. Keep us posted and if along the way, the Owner gets bored of the project and want to sell it, i will buy it. i am local. thanks...simon

I was looking to buy it. Current owner bought it from the original Owner that made the electric conversion. Current Owner ripped out the electric motor and put in a 13b. Here is pic post electric motor conversion......notice there is no gas cap

 

Ha !! that thing has ladder bars like this one im gonna build for myself , came out of texas and has a dana 60 in the back ..

No im not , im in Kendal but I have a friend who owns some r-100's in the Redlands.

ahhahahahah yeah thats the one i was thinking of......does he still have them? sorry to hi-jack your thread......but i love r-100's and there are so many down here that we never see on the road

 

Check my pics or my facebook link , I completely rebuilt the red one , its completely original with the original 10A , he still has it , I think he might sell it , one of the blue ones is mine that I will be building after this white one , and the other blue r-100 he is going to build a nasty street car .

 

Another all original R-100 comes by for some work , 10A with a.c.

Shame about the old EV conversion using a crappy DC motor, probably a terrible SCR controller or worse, a Curtis, and likely 1000 LBs of lead acid.

Now, a modern conversion with an AC motor direct drive and li-ions...that would be awesome.
