The car is now at the body shop getting painted.we are going to run a 13b cosmos engine, turbo II transmission,t-66 turbonetics turbo, haltech Sprint re ecu just to name a few for now.its going to be a few months before we get the car back but in the meantime we are getting the seats reupholstered and taking engine apart to get ported and ready to go.here are some pics of it leaving to the body shop.

Stay tuned for updates!

Nice! I remember seeing an album from this build some time ago. Good luck with the build. Hows the yellow Rx2 and the REPU coming??

turbo_dave 06-12-12 03:07 PM

The yellow rx2 is getting a s4 hybrid turbo and a new tial wastegate, also fabbing up a better turbo manifold now that my welding skills got better lol.also modifying the turbo II lower intake manifold so it bolts up directly to the block without using a spacer.the repu is next once i am done with yellow car.I will update those threads soon.

RX2-Mazda-Fan 06-12-12 05:39 PM

Is the white duece staying white?

banzaitoyota 06-12-12 09:04 PM

I wanted it to stay white but he decided on aston Martin tuxton grey like this one.

RX2-Mazda-Fan 06-19-12 12:26 PM

Staying in the Mazda color palette would be nice, but that Aston grey is pretty sexy too!! Can't wait to see it at the local meets.

This is what he has for front brakes
Attachment 718606

We are going to run ssr reverse mesh,16x8 in rear and 16x7 fronts.I will take picture of those tomorrow.they were fully redone, powder coated black and polished.

rotorypolo 06-19-12 04:22 PM

please dont make this into a drag car setup!!!

turbo_dave 06-19-12 07:48 PM

Do those big vented brake rotors look like we are trying to save weight for drag purposes lol... I mentioned earlier post about interior being reupholstered that would have been the dead giveaway of it being fully streetable.as a matter of fact we are putting in heater and a/c to keep comfortable while cruising.

RX2-Mazda-Fan 06-19-12 10:53 PM

Dang Dave... that's a nice front brake set up, will that fit the stock RX2 spindle without any mods?

cartechturbo 06-20-12 04:57 AM

Nice

Yes it will, was made rx2 specific.only problem is we have to use 16" wheels, smaller wheels will hit calipers depending on the clearance they have.

cfamilyfix 06-20-12 04:28 PM

You guys gonna redrill some BBS?...that shit is so classic. I remember seeing it on Authority's 3 and they looked great

Ball joints we got through autozone auto parts.the tie rods were rebuilt by a shop in Compton, and all bushings were purchased from forum member Juan.pm me jay if you need the info on tie rods,I will try and find the address.they rebuild them for $25 a piece.

papsmagu 02-25-13 06:22 PM

I put on the brake set up but we ran in to a problem with the wheels we were going to use.front rims hits the coil overs,if I put a spacer they clear but stick out past the fender a good 1.5".the rear only have a 2" lip but we want something more agressive.so we decided that we are going to get a set of bbs rs wheels and refinish those instead.we are trying to get 16x8.5 rear or 16x9 rear, and fronts 16x7 with the right offset so it will clear everything good.

Here's a pic of how the break setup looks.
