13b 4 port RB Intake spacer pros and cons

I have seen some folks install the open spacer from the Racing beat Intake and on to the 4 barrel holley/ edelbrock carbs. according to RB they recommend the Holley Carburetor Base Gasket , This is the Racing Beat-recommended gasket for use with all Racing Beat Holley intake manifolds. As compared with the single, large opening gasket that Holley supplies with their carburetors, this version features port openings for the individual intake runners - more effectively isolating and directing the air/fuel mixture into the intended primary and secondary runners.

I am currently struggerling with my 600 cfm edebrock on to my 13b 4 port with RB holley style intake. The car came with a edebrock Carburetor Heat Insulator #9266 Divided Square Bore.

what would be the best solution for me? bolt the carb directly to the 4 port RB intake and have the port openings for the individual runners?

mine is directly to the intake with no spacer. gasket is the 4 hole one. never have ran a spacer.

thanks. It may be because the choke actuator on the edelbrock performer series crashes with the thermostate housing.

Im having troubles with expremly rich mixture and not able to idle below 1100. maybe i will try to bolt it directy to the intake manifold..
