I lived in Miami too my friend. Almost every winter I'm there. My father still lives there, so I know a good beach. Alki is tight expecially when all this past summer it was in the upper 80's and low 90's. The ass on the beach was compairable to some of miami's lesser known spots. It's no south beach, but the action was plentiful! At least it was for me... :101384_l:

The only bad thing about the car is that it's an automatic.

I have visited over 30 states and over 20 different countries around the world.
Washington is still in my top 5 places to live. In the summer time, very few places if any, can come close to the beauty here. Winter time... the mountains are really really nice and loads of fun.

Spring time aint bad, winter can be a bit depressing though. Hence why for the past 4 years I've gone somewhere warm and sunny for winter then back to washington for spring and summer. :)

But its all based on personal preference I guess... if youre a prude and cant handle a little rain, then youre a wuss anyways and yous houldnt worry yourself with weather, you should worry yourself with other things... like maybe getting a penis.

I use to live in Dutch harbor. it was cold there in the winter.

SideWindeRx7 12-21-05 09:25 PM

You lived in dutch harbor? lol... I hate that place in the winter, but in the summer (when or if it gets sunny, its really really pretty. Then again the whole aleutian chain is really nice in the summer). How long did you live there and whats your name? :)

edit: wait a minute, I believe I talked to you outside the hotel at sevenstock like 2 years ago, and we discussed dutch. Infact, Im sure of it... weeeeiiird.

siamiam 12-21-05 10:20 PM

dutch harbor has some warm winters compared to the Interior but with it being so much more wetter its pretty damned friged.

i would hate to live there, not enough to do but theres good paying jobs working in the fishing industry. beats the hell out of living in Barrow

CODE BLUE 2 12-22-05 12:03 AM

Definetly not much to do there but catch up on drinking skills:beer:, fishing, drinking:beer:, fishing and then drinking:beer: and fishing, then there was the trip to the dump once a week to feed all the eagles. (an awesome experience). I think with Daves drinking skills came fighting skills. Winters are a blast for snowboarding and sledding. Thats basically it for intertainment in lovely Dutch Harbor. I would sell my cars to move back if given the opportunity.

If you want peace from the world...Dutch Harbor is the place to live.

SideWindeRx7 12-22-05 02:19 PM

I dont see how people can live there year round.... it really boggles my mind.
I spend about 4 months a year, spread out over the entire year. After about a month I start to go bonkers ... As for the bars... good luck now, carls is closed down, elbow room was bought out and is now a girlie bar called latitudes and the unisea bar is ... well the unisea bar.

I've lived all over the world and Puget Sound is where I chose to stay. Temperature is pretty stable, no extremes either way. It rains in the winter, but not hard. Very little snow in the lowlands. One sunny day, winter or summer, and you will see why I stayed.

The problem out here is not the weather...or even the expense. The problem here is the traffic, it's pathetic! And the east side (Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland) is the worst because of the attitude, especially near Microsoft. There's a lot of money on the eastside and they all think they own the road and everyone else should get out of the way of where they want to go. Nobody thinks they have to wait their turn for anything and they will do anything to keep from it. They'll come up to within 1/4 mile of an exit and try to get from the left hand carpool lane to the righthand exit lane, 3 or 4 lanes over and wonder why traffic gets backed up. Or they'll pass you in the right hand exit lane and then try to force you to let them in when they get up to the actual exit. And Lord help you if it rains or snows. Like I said, I've lived a lot of places and these drivers are the absolute worst.

Let's see how well this goes over.

Shane79 12-28-05 10:12 PM

It sucks ass here. I have a bad seal on the passenger door of my Rx7, and everyday I have to towel out the puddle in my passenger footwell. I thought about killing myself all day today. Don't move here!

NEMESIS8 12-28-05 10:39 PM

I'm growing gills I think :)

WA is a green place to live but like everyone else said, the weather is real crappy out here but the cops don't bother me unless I am not watching out for them. You have to keep a good lookout for them otherwise they will bust you.

Wargasm 01-21-06 11:30 AM

Update: I think I'll be in Redmond for a day or two for interviews in about 2 weeks... I still haven't decided if I'm willing to move cross-country, but they didn't really flinch too much when the topic of salary came up, so maybe they'll make it worth all the trouble for me.

:)

Kari 01-21-06 01:03 PM

We're on day 31 of our record of 33 consecutive rain days.

Hope that answers your question. :D
