With such a nice day I had to get out and drop the top. I just started driving around 10 or 11 and just got back a hour ago, and its needless to say a fun trip! The roads around Elbe was fun, much more fun then I remember going up there with my dad in his pos ford haha I just kept going and going. All the way around Mt. Rainier and back roads it was awesome, had so much fun. I cant wait to do a TII or RE swap and have more HP to play with :egrin:

Started to do the bodywork on the car. Pulled the rocker panel straight and straightened out the area around the fuel door and quarter panel corner. Pulled about 5lbs. of wet decaying leaves and pine needles out of the heater blower inlet area and inside the fender rockers. Guys please if you love your car, check those areas often. Otherwise it will turn the metal to mush in short order.
Engine and transmission mocked up and moved to the rear by 2 inches. Weight transfer maximised...CHECK! |
Just installed the pumpkin in the FD with Carbonetics diff and 4.77 gears.
Now to go out and re-assemble everything else... |
Passed emission on the 16 years old FD. Yayyyyyy!!!

This:
I was driving down a back country road doing about 35mph(the speed limit) I made a sharp left onto another road that led up a hill and heard a thud thud thud sound coming from the back of my car. I stopped the car in the middle of the hill and looked to see if one of my wheels had come loose, everything looked fine, so I drove it (slowly since it was still making the thudding sound) up to the top of the hill so I could park my car off the street. Since I couldn't see anything wrong I just called a tow truck. When I got it back to my place I drove it up the street so I could pin point where the sound was coming from, but I didn't hear anything, so I drove it about a block and made a sharp left turn and heard the thud thud thud sound. I got out of my car and my rear drivers side tire and hub was pointed left. I jacked up the car and moved the tire/hub back into alignment. Drove it slowly back to my house, took the wheel off and saw that I was missing a bolt that connected the hub to the A-arm. Turns out my DTSS bolt fell out as seen here: https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...1&d=1268180419 Ordered the bolt and washer from Black dragon automotive, I just hope nothing got damaged back there like the DTSS bushing. https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...1&d=1268181368 |

Well let me tell you guys about my fun little adventure with my 7. I was leaving my house just got onto the freeway shifted into third and my clutch slammed to the floor and wouldn't come back up and I had no pressure. I find a place to pull over and what do you no my clutch release cylinder is completely off. On of the bolts back out and the other one sheered off. After I towed the car to my brothers we just took it apart cleaned it and put it back together and it was all good. I guess I got pretty lucky. That was what I did with my rx7 today.

Today I finished wiring up my Eclipse head unit, RF amp and 4 of my speakers, temporarilly. Needed tunes. LOL Didn't remember what stereo sounded like without subs and EQ. Gotta find time to fab enclosures and install remaining components! Also got to drive her today with the new alt for the first time. DAMN! It's nice to hear the gilmer and not the alt grinding. ;) Love that sound! Now I need to get another fuel pump. My Holley is WAY too loud, even with rubber around the pump and between the mounts. What's a nice strong, but quiet pump that won't cost my left nut?

Start looking for another header
