My New Toy/DD :)

well i finally made a choice and picked out a new car, got a decent deal on the car, had 40k original miles on it when i got it. runs like a champ. Has a few mods like a Perrin FMIC, exhaust, o2 housing, Evo 9 MR turbo with the 10.5 hot side, and a few other little mods. let me know what you think..

BTW yes i know its not a rx7...lol

I don't know if it's bright enough - lol.

Anyway, congrats on your new car. I've been in a few on the autocross and always find them fun and well-handling cars. All the owners I've met so far have been pretty cool too.

JordanRykon 06-16-09 11:14 PM

+1 on brightness had to turn it down on the monitor to see what kind of car it was lol

all joking aside have fun with your awd boostage

cool car. Although i will never buy another tuner car that has already been modded. Although it's only got 40k on it I can almost guarantee 10k of it's life has been above 6k RPM...

sweet, im tryin to find myself a salvage title 2000 body style vw golf 1.8T for a little DD, ive drove an evo 8 before, fun to drive, stick to the road nicely, but just a little slow off the line,, but still fast enough to get you into trouble

RX7_GRL 06-17-09 10:38 AM

congrats on the new ride! =] how come your MR doesnt have the vortex generator?

lol i guess i should have made it clearer, its a 2003 evo VIII, non MR. it just has a EVO IV MR turbo on it. :)
the gas mileage kinda sucks though, around 20.
it has some JIC coilover in the front, and stock struts with Tien springs in the back, he gave me the stock struts with the tiens for the front too.
the car sure does handle good though.

All of the after market parts were installed with in the last 500 miles to me getting it. the kid i bought it from had only put 500ish miles on it, and he installed the exhaust, intercooler, intake, and the different turbo, so im not too worried its been beat on. He also installed a walbro fuel pump so it has plenty of fuel.

Looks like a fun ride congrats.

markusj08 06-17-09 11:52 PM

My best friends got one. Fun car, what front mount is that? It looks smaller that stock?!

mort2002 06-18-09 12:44 AM

Rob, you should get a grille to hide your radiator and fans, but not one of the generic ricer grilles, get a Strut grille for a 300c and make your bumper fit the grille

yea i was looking to get the stock pieces but they are stupid expensive, like 140 bux for the 4 piece set. i dont even know why. lol

Upgrayedd 06-18-09 11:34 PM

try a salvage yard or a used front air dam, probably cheaper

mort2002 06-18-09 11:37 PM

i dont have any evo's in salvage yards around here. the salvage yards around here buy the hondas, these cars are too much for them to buy for the yards.
i also live in a town where the population is around 5k people, and i have yet to see anouther evo 8 in town yet.

Upgrayedd 06-18-09 11:49 PM

lol try foreigncarparts.com they list what salvage yars have and you can search within a certain radius. You may be able to find something there for a decent price

mort2002 06-19-09 01:04 PM

Thanks Tim, ill give it a try.

Rx7TyreBurna 06-19-09 01:10 PM

Awesome! :) Going to pick up our new DD / track car..... 2002 WRX wagon. :) If you come to the BSCC meets, you'll see it down there. It will be the GF's track car. :)

dtale15 06-19-09 01:10 PM
