I love how everyone with a TII runs a vented blow off valve... Nothing like venting metered air that is supposed to go back into the intake system so you dont create a lean condition and pop your motor....

Anyways, looks clean.
Price?

Turbo11 03-06-07 03:39 PM

3.6k and that bov was a x-mas gift. not a mechanic yet. learning

Bluecoop91 03-06-07 03:41 PM

Give the guy a break their Spyder..afterall, you are the one that drove off and let your hood fly up on your new FD!!!!

point5chink 03-06-07 04:16 PM

Wouldnt less air cause a rich condition? Im not familiar with TII's but in general venting to the atmosphere causes less air to be in the system than the computer thinks. Computer puts more fuel in because it thinks it has more air which makes it run rich. You might get some good fire out the tail pipe on shifts and it wont be as fast as it could be...but i dotn think it'll pop the motor. Is there something that I'm overlooking here?

afgmoto1978 03-06-07 04:16 PM

Ha Ha

fluffysheap 03-06-07 04:19 PM

You can't create a lean condition by venting air OUT of the system... blowing all that air away just means you have to suck a little more through the filter and it might make the turbo work just a tiny bit harder when you get back on the throttle, but you won't blow your motor with a loud BOV.

13bpower 03-06-07 04:21 PM

Ooooo, looks nice. Congrats!

point5chink 03-06-07 04:31 PM

im starting to like the turboIIs more and more...nice car!

Monkman33 03-06-07 04:46 PM

Ouch... But we all make mistakes. Hopefully we learn from them.

And taking air away after the meter will only make it run richer. since it thinks it is getting more than it is, it will inject fuel for the metered amount.

WadeMCarter 03-06-07 05:07 PM

those fog lights are overwhelming, but sexy car nonetheless!

It's all good, this is a great place to learn all that which you do not already know. :Wconfused

Josh18_2k 03-07-07 01:21 AM

a vented BOV makes for pretty flames :-)

Rx7TyreBurna 03-07-07 01:52 AM

But, BOV would make for poor performance when shifting..

Flames are cool though.... but not at night while there is a cop behind you....

Just trust me.. don't do it. If they are smart, they will quickly realize that your car probably couldn't pass emissions.

True, but we don't have DEQ testing in Eugene.

point5chink 03-07-07 05:39 PM

and if you are boosting in front of a cop, he is prolly going to pull your ass over regardless of the flames. In front of cop, just keep it out of boost and you wont have a problem with flames or the cop. My car used to shoot 10ft flames out the back before it was tuned right :)
