I've recently picked up and 87 gxl and I've ran into a few snags and I was wondering if there's anyone in Boise Idaho who could possibly help me get everthing sorted out. Any help would be greatly appreciated

How about you post the issues you are having so we can tell you your engine is blown and get it over with.

Haha, I like your cut through the bullshit and get to the point attitude. I'm surprised you just didn't tell him swap it out.

You're going to have a hell of a time owning a 7 if this is the case. Did you happen to see the other thread just posted about how dead the Idaho scene is? What if no one is around to help?

Sorry I havent been on lately.
But my main problem was a bad high pressure fuel line going underneath the intake which was causing a leak. So i pulled of the throttle body/intake and fixed it. and when i put it back on i9 switched the throttle body from an S5 to the one on my S4. and put all my vacuum lines and everything back on. Now when i went to start it, it revved all the way up to 7 grand till i shut it off(two seconds) this happened two times. the next three times it would rev to 5 grand and die. and now it wont even start... A bad vacuum leak maybe? or a bad TPS?

Don't mix and match s4 and s5 engine components unless you REALLY know what you are doing. Get the right stuff on there and mark double sure every gasket on the intake is new. Reusing gaskets is stupid. If you are looking to save money use RTV black and be very careful you get a good seal everwhere you use it.

Well the only thing that I could tell was different on the throttle body was the tps, but I switched that one with the one on the s4 by splicing the wires.
Could it possibly be a bad vacuum leak though too?

turn the motor over and spray starter fluid around the intake see if you find a vac leak

okay so the throttle cable was fine, i checked everything and i deduced it to the MAF sensor, and when i pulled it apart, i noticed someone else had already done that, and soldered some of the wires before and they had somehow come undone, so now my next order of buisness is to get my auto tech teacher to solder those back and hopefully it will work

Damnit, so i switched throttle bodies back to the original S4, put all the vacuum lines and wter lines, and all that good stuff where they go. I start it, it wouldnt idle, it would just die, it wont stay running unless i give it about quarter throttle, and my tac wont work.... any ideas? could it be a bad vacuum leak from the intake? or maybe a sensor of some kind? im just completely lost?
