Description:

After nearly 8 years with the car, the time has come for me to sell my 1993 FD RX7.  At the top level, it’s a 1993 touring with 53,000 original miles on the body powered by a no-expense-spared semi peripheral port engine with the most elite version of nearly every supporting part out there.  A couple months ago it did 778 RWHP at 36.5 PSI on a local dyno jet.

This car absolutely isn’t for everyone. The super clean stock body is deceptive to the fact that it’s a semi peripheral port, big turbo big power wild street machine.  It pulls about 10” of vacuum at the 1800 rpm idle which aside from the brapping effect is perfectly stable from cold start up to full temp (greatly aided by the Drive by Wire function).  I personally tuned the car in using Alpha-N style fueling over the last 3-4 months and everyone who has ridden in it is amazed at the how well it behaves during cold/hot cranking, cruising, and low rpm on/off throttle conditions, not to mention how every single one was amazed at how fast the boost came on after their assumption it would be “laggy”.

The car is current tuned for flex-fuel and will run fine between 93 octane and E85.  If the sensor detects less than 50% Ethanol, the tune automatically defaults to the spring pressure of 14 PSI.  If Ethanol content is above 50%, the boost level is set by a 4-position switch on the dash where position 1 is 20 PSI, position 2 is 25 PSI, position 3 is 30 PSI that did 711 RWHP and position 4 is the 36.5 PSI that put out 778 RWHP on the dyno.

I refuse to sell this to a kid or someone I feel will be at high risk for killing themselves in it.  Even at the 25 PSI setting, it can get away from you really quickly if you aren’t accustomed handling this power.

I have a complete spreadsheet that details the complete build list totaling over $30,000 in parts alone (not including the Volks or R888Rs) that I’ll be glad to share with legitimate buyers along with a multitude of pictures, but these are the high points:

A few things:
1. Great sales ad. This is how you put together a great complete look at the car.
2. Thank you for paying attention to who you will sell this to. No one wants to see anyone get hurt.
3. This car is bad ***.
4. Free bump. GLWS! Should sell quickly

Thanks on all fronts! I can honestly say the thing that makes me the most nervous about handing it off to someone else is them getting hurt in it as it really is a scary *** machine. I've been progressively adding power to it for years and every time I get out of it to this day I still have the high strung nerves, light stomach and high adrenaline feeling.

Hey Rich! I 100% agree, I pretty much only use facebook for marketplace as craigslist has been reduced to a scam-fest. You wanna buy a real fast and nasty FD to add to your collection?

Great ad. I don't believe I see anything about the transmission (maybe I missed). I assume it's a T56 conversion?

It is still the factory trans in there, but could stand a T56 or DCT swap. It was about a month ago that I ripped all the teeth off 3rd gear in the 53k mile original trans turning it into a donut at only 30 PSI, which you can see in action in the first video I posted below. After I broke that one, I picked up a pettit 'blueprinted' (whatever that means) from a friend who went DCT and tossed it in.
