Description:

This is a recreation of the plastic latch that holds the fuel lid door closed on the Mazda RX-7 FD3S chassis.
Part was design in CAD and manufactured in the U.S.A. for a direct fitment-replacement. 
The part is 2.7 inches or 68.7 millimeters in length.

The picture also shows, for reference only, the OEM metal assembly were this part goes in.
OEM only provides the full assembly, which includes the metal mount attached to the cable which releases the fuel door and the trunk door. The OEM part number F10056870A includes this part. As the FD3S ages, plastic parts fail. Mazda never intended this part to be a single replacement.

The part you are purchasing, allows flexibility for installation, as it is a single unit and the metal assembly does not come apart. The OEM part fails on the exposed piece, which holds the fuel door closed. The part is made of plastic resin, treat it with care when performing the installation. A small amount of die-electric grease or equivalent will go a long way in the installation and use of this part.

Access to this part requires disassembly of the rear driver (LHD) or passenger (RHD) side plastic trunk trim and rear driver (LHD) or passenger (RHD) side strut brace, plus an electrical module. For cars equipped with the BOSE system, take your time, as there are far more removal requirements, for a clean access and minimizing breakage of other OEM components. 

The metal assembly which the part goes on, it is only held in place by a nut, in the exterior of the car, in the gas tank filler region. You will need to use a needle nose plier or similar, to open the metal clip legs and remove it from the cable assembly. Be careful removing the OEM piece, as the assembly contains a spring and washer, you will need to use upon reassembly and usage of this part. Please make a note (video or picture) of your removal, as this part has a specific placement and orientation upon installation.
