I have a Gen 1 1979 Mazda RX-7 with open title so whoever purchases it will be owner #2. It belonged to a meticulous man who kept meticulous records including a book where he wrote down the date, mileage, fuel cost, fuel economy, and oil changes every time he filled up with gas or had an oil change. I have all the service records and that booklet. It is one of the oldest in existence from what I can tell by the VIN. A collectible no doubt. The man that bought and owned the car originally later sold it to a gentleman who found me on here as a matter of fact and traded me this Gen 1 for my 1990 RX-7 Convertible. That is how I came to be the owner. 

Things that need some attention and things that are good or new. 

The odometer says 33686 but I have service records that have mileage listed at 133,686miles.

There is a piece of decorative trim that fell off on the passenger door but I have it in the car.

The wipers move every few seconds so I believe the switch is just stuck, shouldn’t be too hard to fix. 

The brakes probably need to be bled before attempting to use it on the road. They do work as I drove it in the neighborhood but would recommend a bleed.

As you can see from pictures the seats are original and could use recovering. 

There is a slight tear in the dash on the passenger side. 

Driver side door has some of the inside paneling missing where the original owner pushed the door open with his foot when he would get out.

On the exterior there are some surface scratches but nothing major that a little paint wouldn’t fix. No deep rust or anything of that nature. 

The care starts and idles and revs and the clutch works as it should. I drove it down the driveway and around the neighborhood and parked it in the driveway to wash it for the pictures below. 

Fairly new tires. The oil is new, oil filter is new, spark plugs are new, fuel pump is new and I have a replacement pump as well. Fuel filter is new and battery is fairly new. 

I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have. The car is a an absolute time piece and would be a fun show piece for someone to put a little bit of time into and have an early classic car. 

I would prefer the money but would consider trading for a nice motorcycle or vehicle I could use as a daily. I’m 31 years old and would love to see the car find a loving home with someone who appreciates and cares for the car the way it deserves. I’m just not in the stage of life where I can continue to give her the care and time she deserves.
