Purchased earlier this year, but there's no way I'm getting around to this project. 

Previous owner parked it in garage and put a cover over it about 15yrs ago when it died and he thought the motor failed. I don't believe he had it checked out. He wasn't mechanically inclined nor was he a Rx7 enthusiast. For those reasons, I had high hopes that it would run. I've pulled the fuel pump fuse, put a new battery in it and everything comes to life. All gauges light up, windows work well and all exterior lights work. I haven't turned the motor over at all. I didn't transport it in gear because I didn't want the motor to rotate. I haven't turned it over by hand or with the starter...it hasn't been rotated.

It's been garaged this whole time except when I rolled it out for pictures. It's not been dusted off or cleaned. I'll leave that for the new owner.

I spoke with Carlos Iglesias at length when I purchased this Rx7. He bought it from Mazda in 1995 (Mazda had purchased it back from original owner which was an option offered on their 93 models with ecu failures). Carlos built this R1 into what it currently is. He did have two accidents which show up on the CarFax as a front and rear collision. Both were very minor. He rolled into someone which required the front bumper to be repainted. Someone bumped into him which didn't require any paint work to the rear bumper. All body panels and bumpers are original to the car. The color change happened around 2002.
