Description:

Well, I suppose the time has come to part with this car.  I'm the 3rd owner from new.  Purchased in 2008 with just under 60,000 miles on the odo.  Photos then are in my profile.  Current ones (and videos) in the link below.  Just copy and paste into your browser.
This is an honest car.  It's not perfect.  It has 36 years worth of patina.  It has not been repainted while in my custody, nor the former owner, who had it for 20 years.  It has been driven. It is NOT a trailer queen, BUT is has been cared for and maintained  The photos speak for themselves.  Interior is among the best I have ever seen.  No tears, cuts, burns, stains or other damage.  Factory floormats, Everything still works, save the power antenna, which was vandalized in a parking lot (my fault).  I salvaged what I could, but it has to be raised and lowered by hand.  I also have BOTH the glass and metal sunroofs, with BOTH vinyl covers.  The original GSL-SE turbine wheels also come with the car. They WILL need to be refurbished (not bent, but clearcoat is shot). Radio, equalizer, cassette player and joystick all function, as do all 4 factory speakers. factory lighter in place.  Windows go up and down smoothly.  Pass side a bit slower (I've not adjusted or lubricated that one ever. Cruise  and all wipers work as well.  Don't even ask about the hatch struts. You know they don't work already. In addition, I have a distributor, water pump, and 1 tested ignitor that also come with the car.
Work done includes new front strut inserts and coil springs, new rear shocks, new idler arm, trans mount, manifold to midpipe converter assembly replaced with stainless pipe and hi-flow cat from magnaflow while I lived in Phoenix along with O2 sensor. And YES, Port actuators for 5&6  function smoothly and normally as there is a connection for the smog pump. Car passed Ca. emissions in 2017 and 2019.  I'm taking it in Monday for smog check and will upload emissions certificate. AC compressor, clutch, expansion valve, and receiver/drier in 2015 with R134a conversion done.  Aux pusher fan in front of condenser that cycles with AC compressor (IT"S HOT HERE). New clutch slave and master cylinder, new brake master cylinder, Fuel injectors tested and re-built with new o-rings and pintle caps, fuel pressure regulator and pulsation damper also replaced, as were the fuel lines on top of the engine.  Coolant flushed 3 times in my care.  Oil changed twice a year (20W-50 in MAY, 10W-30 in NOVEMBER).  The only oil leak was fixed 3 weeks ago when I replaced both o-rings under the filter perch.  Diff and trans fluid changed in 2008 and 2015.  Starter will need replacing soon, as will the driver door handle.  All locks keyed the same.  All lights work inside and out, even the ignition switch light still works.  New ignition coils (right, LONGDUCK??), HT leads two years ago.  Plugs cleaned and in good shape.  I use NGK BR8EQ or Denso equivalent in both leading and trailing to reduce fouling.  I will respond to serious inquiries ONLY.  Please don't insult my intelligence with a low-ball offer.  I am well aware of what these cars are selling for.  I want it to go to someone that will take care of it, appreciate it, and fix what I haven't had the time to.  As far as price goes, PM me with an offer.  If I reply, we can talk.  I love this car too much to give it away.

Cheers!

Brian.

Not all of us keep a compression checker in the junk drawer in the kitchen. That's why I posted the CALIFORNIA smog certificate. If the compression wasn't up to snuff, it never would have passed. It did, with a non CARB certified Catalytic converter to boot. I will post a cold start video soon, so that we can all watch it idle at 2500 RPM,

Cheers!

Passing smog test has nothing to do with compression test. If u are selling a rotary on a rotary forum u will need to add the compression tester to ur junk drawer. It's viable tool wich will show if the engine will last 4plus more years or will last few months.

That is a super clean interior. I'm more partial to the grey interior on these cars but that red is incredibly clean. I've had 3 FB's and have all had exceptional interiors.. this rivals even my cleanest car.

Not all of us buy with compression numbers. There are some of us who buy from test drives alone. True, smog doesn't dictate good compression. However this is for the buyer to follow up on, not the seller.

GLWS, that appears to be a very nice FB. Yes these are hovering at around the 10k range for good condition examples.

Looks like a very nice Custom Silver Metallic 85! The car definitely appears to be well loved and cared for! Have you owned it long?
