  • Price
    $500
  • Location Athens, AL, 35614, USA
  • Condition Used
Description:

Asking $500 apiece for the short block, no accessories.

Intakes, carburetors, alternators, etc… are extra or can sell separately.

I have two 12A rotary engines in UNKNOWN CONDITION that came out of a couple RX-7s. One appears to to from an earlier year (78-80) and the other a later year (81-83) but I can’t confirm. Both have short oil filter pedestals which indicate they would have had factory from mount inter coolers. One has a short distributor and a simpler emissions system & the other has a tall distributor and the more complex emissions system found in the 81-85 cars.

I planned to tear them down and run a blow-through turbo setup on one of them but plans change.

Local pick up on the engines, willing to ship accessories.

Happy to post additional pictures if you have any questions. Thanks!

Does the SA engine turn freely by hand? It has the solid lug assembly boss's? (not the H shaped ones)

Hey there. First off, Banzai can call first dibs as he was here first, but I'm interested in the distributor and carburetor on your SA engine but have several questions. My '79 came with an unfinished electronic ignition swap, as well as an '84 carburetor, and I was hoping to switch back to "stock".

The carb appears to be complete and untouched; are you able to verify that? Or instead, if I just got an additional picture or two that would be great. I was also wondering if you possibly had the 9v ignition coils left over from the SA car?
Other than that, I'm just curious what you would be pricing all of those accessories at (or whatever may be available).

Thanks for your time,
Pascal

From what I can tell, the carb. is original to the engine as well as the other accessories and hasn't been tampered with.

I'm afraid I don't have the coils for the SA, sorry. I also wasn't the one to pull the engines from the RX-7s.

Also, I was able to turn both engines over by hand in case anyone was curious.

Ah great. And that’s alright, no worries
What’s your estimate on the price of the carb, if no one else is interested?

The SA engine (short block) is spoken for.

Pascal, let me pull the accessories off the engine and I’ll send you pictures.

I totally forgot about you, I’m very sorry. If you’re still interested, I’ll get everything tore apart tonight/tomorrow and send you pictures and a price. Shoot me a DM and we can work out the details.
