Description:

I purchased this Mazda FD in Boston in 2007 with 25k miles on it. I imported it into Canada in November 2007 and was only able to drive it for a few weeks before putting it into winter storage. It now has approximately 32k miles.

During my ownership, the FD has never seen snow or rain, except for the drive from Boston to Canada in November 2007 when it rained continuously.

The vehicle was completely stock when I purchased it and remains completely stock. The only maintenance it has required during my ownership has been regular oil changes, a new battery, replacement of the clutch pedal position switch and emissions testing every two years. I bought a second set of Mazda OEM wheels because the wheels on the car had some slight curb rash and I wanted a second, unblemished set. The second set of wheels still wear the original OEM tires from 1992.

The radio and cassette player worked fine when I bought the car. Shortly after taking the car to a shop to diagnose an A/C issue, the FM band on the radio quite working. Later, the AM band quit working. I went through the trouble-shooting checklist in the FSM until I reached the “remove radio from dash” step. Not wanting to possibly mar the dash in the attempt to remove the radio, I decided to leave the radio as it is. I recently checked the radio and find that it no longer turns on.

The blemishes on the body were present when I bought the car and I have not corrected them. They are: (1) a door ding on the driver’s side fender (2) what appears to be a fluid drip on the driver’s side rear fender near the gas tank opening that has discoloured the clear coat (3) some minor scratching on the driver’s side fender where it appears someone leaned over the engine without placing a mechanic’s fender cover over the fender (4) a spot above the license plate on the hood where it looks like someone tried to remove bugs with a bit too much force and (5) scratches on the front bumper where the license plate bolts rubbed on the fender.

The interior of the car is nearly pristine, with the exception of a small glue spot on the transmission tunnel console, and a 1/8” split in the vinyl. The interior still has that new leather smell.

The driver’s side floor mat shows wear. Included with the sale is a set of reproduction mats from GarageAlpha.com that I have never used. The OEM passenger’s side mat is in like-new condition. I use the OEM driver’s side mat when driving the car.

The oil pressure sensor shows the occasional blip when driving at a steady speed, but generally operates correctly. It has not reached the point where I believe it needs replacement. The erratic oil pressure sensor is a common issue with the third generation RX-7 due to its position below the oil filter.

I tested the compression in the summer of 2022. Average (of two) tests on the front rotor after warming up the engine were 121, 121, 121. Average (of three) tests on the rear rotor were 134, 135, 132. I suspect the engine had cooled a bit between testing the front and rear rotor resulting in higher compression test results.

Price is in U.S. dollars. As this car is originally a USDM car it should be easily imported to the U.S. Ottawa is an easy 45 minute drive on a four lane divided highway from the nearest U.S./Canada border crossing point at Ogdensbury, NY.

If you have any questions about this FD, please PM me as I am on this forum infrequently. Additional pictures and videos available upon request.
