Description:

Well, it is time for me to downsize - I am moving to a place where I cannot keep a car and my truck. I need my truck for work, so the car has to go. I have loved working on this machine, and there is no way I am done with rotaries - just for now. I am excited to start a new chapter of my life, but I put this ad up with a heavy heart.

A quick overview: The car has a rebuilt engine by Rick Engman (221 miles on it), the car runs well, has all new front suspension and bushings, the body could use some work, and it would be a great start for someone who wants to put everything back stock (I kept all the parts I removed including the radio) or a good base for some modification.

You can check out most of the car's journey with me here on my build thread: https://www.rx7club.com/build-thread...h-now-1122442/

Here are a few videos I made as well on 01/17/2021 (I can take more pictures as well by request, but the video does a pretty good job):

Walk Around:

Hot Start:

Running Engine:

Afterthoughts:

- Rear wiper does not work
- I have loads of random parts sitting around in my garage - everything can go with the purchaser. The bigger ticket items are a couple of housings (one bad), a S4 turbo, FD alt + wiring + dual pulley + fuse, front cover, energy suspension bushings for rear, lots of pre-mix, etc..
- If you have any questions that are not answered in the video(s) just let me know. I want to be as transparent as possible, and to make sure she ends up in a good home.
- This car has been garage kept since I purchased it.
- Don't like the price - make an offer!

I really wish you were closer to me, in Canada.

The price is very fair, in my opinion. There are two anniversary editions for sale near me for $10k. One has been sitting outside and is missing the engine. The other one needs about $10k in body work and a rebuild.

Any rust spots on the body or underbody? I'm highly interested.

I think there was some minor rust on the underbody. Nothing on the outside of the car. I will jack her up and take a video for this thread because I honestly have not been underneath her in quite some time.

A couple of underbody videos. This was fun being 6'7" w/ 2 flashlights and a camera. If you want to see a specific part of the car again just let me know.

Hey man. This is a clean car. Couple of things but what can you do for a car that old. Been wanting to get into the rotary scene but don't really have the money. However, if my life continues on the path I'm on this would make a great first "sports" car for me. I have a reliable car just in case something breaks but that price is doable and very reasonable for what you have. Only downside is that it would be later this year before I could get to a stable place. If you still have it then I am seriously interested in this as I absolutely loved the 10th anniversary edition.

Thank you for the interest and your kind words. My initial listing was because I am moving and did not have a place to store the car although that has now changed. I will keep the listing up, but if my new place ends up having enough room I may end up taking some of the equity from my home sale and do what I set out to do with this car after all. A lot is still up in the air, so we will see what time does. As for now, the car has not been sold, and it certainly may be around and still for sale when you are ready.

I'm glad the new place might work. I'm in North Carolina so I'm pretty close by if anything does come up and I hope to keep in touch. I'd hate to lose something like this if I was in your shoes. Time will tell as the brap lives on!

Have a lot of experience with people not responding to posts do you? New account since Feb this year..Strange. Same reason I paid no attention to your post. Congrats on the new car, and I hope you enjoy your new ride though!

I understand that my last post came off defensive, but I am not trying to be a "tough guy". It is commonplace, though, that brand new members on forum classifieds are more likely to be possible scammers which is why I thought there used to be a minimum number of posts before you could PM/participate in classifieds. Maybe that is not in place anymore or my memory of that rule is just off in regards to classifieds. I just chose to not respond due to that possibility. Then a snarky comment was made on his second post, so I (maybe I should not have) responded in kind.

I have responded to every other interested buyer, and acted on every request since this post was created. Not here to bash new members, but I also do not take kindly to snarky comments - even true ones about my non responsiveness to his post

If that rubs you wrong I understand, but I would rather be more careful than not.

Hey man, saw this. been looking for an RX-7 for a while now, this fresh of a rebuild at that price is awesome. I'm in high school and really want to get into cars in general, this would be an awesome start, would be my first "sports car." Do you think I could possibly drive down sometime this weekend to see the car, possibly buy? Thanks!!

Hey Andrew! Don't take this the wrong way because I don't want to discourage anything that you really want to do. BUT having a rotary as a first car can be a huge learning curve and can be pretty overwhelming if you don't pay close attention to it. Being in high school kids are gonna scratch your car and you may even get into a wreck. For the money, I would get you a Miata and use the extra money you save to get some sick upgrades (Cold air intake, wheels, tires, coil-overs, exhaust, etc). And you don't have to really worry about treating it rough because they can take a punch. Here is a link to something that might spike your interest. https://www.truecar.com/used-cars-fo...id=autotempest

Andrew, I can certainly shoot you a text, but Scout's above comment is well-intentioned and worth reflecting over. Of course, I would not turn down a prospective buyer - especially after the above roast in regards to new members.. We can discuss further as maybe you have the set up, support system, and time to learn these cars.
