I'm Thinking About Putting A 20b In To My S5 What Will I Need To Do This Swap And Is It Alot Of Work?

My S5 Is N/a And I Want To Put A Swap In It. I Want To Keep It Rotory What Could I Get The Most Power Out Of And Keep It Inexpensive?

I Was Told By A Buddy Of Mine That I Should Make My S5 Carburated Because It Will Give Me Alot Of Power. He Has An Eddlebrock 4 Port Set Up To Sell Me And I Want To Know If This Is A Good Idea And If It Will Give Me More Power And How Much More Power?

Go look in the 20B section, the Carb isnt going to give you much more HP then the fuel injection, maybe 5-10hp, depending on your exhuast.

Sounds like your friend is just trying to sell you that setup.

Here's what you need for a 20b setup:

A HUGE SAVINGS ACCOUNT!!

If you have a spare 15 to 20k laying around, that might get it done.

And, by the way, the carb idea is a really bad idea. Stick with the FI.

ya pretty much the only thing that i understand about the 20b conversion is that you need lots o money.. but as they say, you get what you pay for.

What you will need: deep pockets
The amount of work: if you do alot of it yourself, a bunch. If you have someone else do it, less but it will cost more.

Not sure, but you might be able to drop in a TII engine. That would give you more power, and you would save alot of green.

sounds like a bad idea

Changing from FI to a carburetor for a few horse power sounds like a bad idea for sure. There is a lot of good technology in the stock FI system. If you don't have alot of experience tuning vacuum secondary carbs than you shouldn't even consider swapping. Especially just for just a few horse power. Is the motor stock?

instead of putting in a 20b, personally i think it would be easier to do a TII swap.
You would save a lot of money and gain more HP.
and as for the carb. idea, I agree with everyone else...not a good idea.

carbs don't give you more power anyway, it is just a lower tech way of accomplishing the same thing. the reason people think that you get more power with a carb setup is that those people know how to tune a carb and don't know how to tune fuel injection(ie with a computer) fuel injection is more precise than a carb anyway. but you do need the equipment to tune it, which could be expensive depending on what ecu or engine management system you use
