voltmeter jumping to 16 volts
Hi all, so my idle seems to be fairly even, however my voltmeter needle looks like a squirrel in the middle of the road (going back and forth)
im pretty sure its the voltage regulator, so my question is; what are the common symptoms of my voltage regulator going, and should i get it re-built, or replaced? thanks in advance |
The symptoms would be if the voltage climbs too high. In your case you need a different alternator. And have you made any changes to the car from an electrical perspective lately which might have resulted in your problem.

ahh i see.. nope, none at all, i drove the car for a few weeks, and then the problem seemed to manifest.

Check the alternator wiring before you replace it. Follow the B+ wire and ground and see if it's corroded or loose terminals.
