tail lights not working

hi, the tail lights are not working on my 1997 rx7. The dash lights, headlights, brake lights all work fine, replaced the bulbs but still don't work. What's the likely cause? I was thinking fuse but wouldn't the dash lights be out too?

tails and dash fuse are usually two separate animals..
try checking the tail light fuse.

Just went out to the car and checked the fuse and discovered there was no tail light fuse. Figured this must be the problem so I put a new 15a fuse in there. The tail lights are still not working. I checked power on both sides of the fuse and it's getting 12 volts, so the fuse is good. Wiring looks fine at the back of the tail light housing, doesn't look corroded or anything. Not sure what to check next?

first

check if there is power going to the taillights. if so, then sound like you have a bad ground. if not, find where the open is
