welcome to the board. :)

i'd say go with a 13B simply because 12A parts are only going to get harder to find whereas 13B parts are still readily available.

Get a good running/low mile motor from a 2nd gen S5 (89-91), open it up, give it a nice port (bridge or aggressive streetport), some new seals, and slap on a well tuned carb.

Or, if you're feeling adventurous, a 13b-MSP (Renesis) out of the RX-8. That's a whole other can of worms though.

13b, overall more dispalacment.

but idk, i think a blacktop 20v 4age would be hott. they even come with factory ITBs

Between 13b and 12a?

13b.

More power, more parts readily available.

well it sounds like im gonna have to go with a 13b since it would be easier to find parts, thanks fellas for your help. now lets see how hard its gonna be to find a engine. thanks again

take it from a first gen owner, if you can find what your looking for engine parts wise, your spending near as much for the 13b. plus i hear the 13b though, its slightly larger and more efficient being fuel injected, is lighter than the 12a block is, i've been thinking about doing a 13b swap on mine.
