What would happen if you jumpered the fuel check connector?

Pat.fc 08-28-12 08:37 PM

where is that. i know its not a fuel pump issue because i hard wired the fuel pump to a switch at one point and nothing changed

satch 08-28-12 11:01 PM

What exact voltage source (which wire) did you use to hardwire the fuel pump.

Pat.fc 08-29-12 12:20 AM

battery to the b/w fuel pump power wire

satch 08-29-12 01:24 AM

The fuel pump doesn't have a B/W wire. Did you wire in a new relay, and if so, which wire was the trigger wire for the relay.

i ran a wire from the battery to a switch and from the switch to the black and white "power" wire on the fuel pump, the pump turnes on when u hit the switch . its not like that anymore its back to stock

The Circuit Opening Relay (located under the dash) has two rows of wires in a Black and Yellow colored relay. The bottom row has two wires, one Black the other Brown. Jumper both wires together and try to start the car.

After the jumper is in place take a voltage reading of the Blue wire (top row far right position in relay plug) w/key to on. Should have close to battery voltage. And the same wire should have voltage w/key to start as well.

is there an easier way to get to it or do i have to take the dash out

It's just to the right of the steering column and is rather easy to access.
