lazy lights
How do you have your headlights come halfway up on a 2nd gen? I was told there is a knob under the car for each light to adjust, but every time I mess with it the light just goes back down. Any help as to if what I am doing is wrong or am I in the right direction, just doing something wrong? Also, I have a set of s5 taillights that are coming apart.(looks as if the glue that holds the lens isn't holding anymore) Are they worth taking apart and re-glue, or just place to the side an get another set???

As far as your lights problem, I don't know, because I never cared for them so I never looked it up.
I would however fix the taillights. They are hard to come by and expensive. :) |
You have to take out the retractor fuse. It is located in the fuse box in the engine bay. The sleepy eyes do look cool, but they don't help any for night driving.

That's actually a pretty good write up, but you don't have to wire the fuse through the top of the fuse box. You can remove the fuse box and install the wires from the underside, maintaining the stock fuse.
|
...or just turn the car off and adjust the knobs on each side.

I like the Sleepy eye look!
here's a vid of how to do it in a 240, Warning its Japanese but..... its preatty simple looking at it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-IM3l...eature=related Good luck with the lights. |
Yeah, but the writeup on the link provides automated "sleepy eyes" so you don't have to put the fuse back in when you drive at night.
|
the winky eyes are cool too

Yo, thanks a lot. But, they do NOT help at night as far as tryin to see 3 feet in front of you. But I am in desparate need of a headlight switch and the connector that goes into it. Can somebody help me out?????

There you go. Also, sleepy/lazy lights are for 240 owners. You own a mighty Rx7, show some pride soldier. |
Thanks, but since I am a newbie, it won't allow me to post/pm anyone in the classifieds.......

I know about it. I just found it a couple days ago, but it's raining like hell now. I'm looking out my bay doors, and I'm getting mad as hell because I was really looking forward to coming out and getting away from the old lady. Besides, I'm tired of always having to buy parts out of state. Now I can just get up with you guys hopefully every friday night and talk/swap parts and have fun.....
|
it's every Friday - ther probably won't be anyone out tonight with all the rain
Alot of also autocross with NASA and VMSC www.autocross.us |
u can cut the brown wire or you can dick around the with the headlight switch and stop it right in the middle.

I'll be there this Friday, hope to see ya. |
After i rip my gtu apart and swap what i need into the non running glx and slap my 17's on, this is going to be my first mod. The diy controller looks like a fair mod. Screw paying $100 for the pivot controller and then you have to figure out how to wire it up....well, it's pretty straight-foward but still. I'd rather have it be good, fast and cheap when i can take it that way. :)
S5 tails are nice. I'll be on the lookout for a set soon. I dont like my s4's. Reminds me of a delorean.... To the haters, i love sleepy eyes. Always have. I hated popups until i saw them half open and just had to do it. Before i got my eclipse, i wanted a 240 and planned on doing it since at the time, everyone was doing front end conversions. Who cares if nobody else likes it? It's your car! |

THey have been doing the lazy eye thing on 1g dsms for ever but it doesn't have quite the negative affects for night driveling. Function before form.
:coolkid01 Just my 2 cents But do what makes you happy |
the idea of the controler is so that you can run the sleepy eyes during the day then open them up at night...not a permanate thing. it could be pretty nice to if you got a nice switch and tucked the wires better!!!
