injectors in xcessve lim

hey guys ive got a xcessive lim with the 4 port fuel rail, what i was
wondering is that if its possible to run 2 different size injetors in one
rail? eg. 1000cc primarys and 1600cc secondaries?

If your ECU allows you to control them, sure.

well there are only 4 injectors so i cant see why not, running a haltech sprint re, i just havent seen it done anywhere, looked around at what other people are running an they are either running 4 the same size or keeping the primarys in the stock location,

Oh, you want to move the primaries? Why? They are positioned close to the ports and within the runners fed by the primary throttle plate to promote atomization. Moving them would really only be something done on an engine that won't ever see low RPM.

mainly simplicity, im still running standard uim an throttle body, i guess at worst i can try it, or put the standard primary rail an injectors in,

ive wondered the same.. if there would be a difference moving the primaries off the stock location to the two inner ports of the xcessive lim...

No reason to move them. Moving them farther up the runners will just mean you'll need to run more primary duty cycle to combat wall wetting from the injectors. It will take more fuel to achieve the same throttle response, and there will always be some throttle response lag. There's really no reason to do this. Mazda has kept the same primary injector location since the turbo 12A for a reason. :)

yeah i get what your saying, i might see if i can find someone on here who has tried it and ask them a few questions, cheers for the replies

for a drag strip car, its fine, for a street driven car or autocrosser... i would still run the stock primary location.
