I'm new in this world of the rotor engine

I recently purchased a 1989 rx7 and I need help because the car heats ups but its not a critical thing but it get high temp when I stop in a red light the guy that sell it to me said that the car do that because the fan clutch is bad but i want the opinion of someone that knows about this cars because I like the car a lot I will apreciate your response. if you dont understand my english I apologize but my first language is spanish. but i will try to express the best that I can.
Thanks.

If the car is getting hot at stop lights you had better figure it out quick. Rotary motors don't like overheating. I would park it until I figured it out. Fan clutches do go bad, sounds like a good place to start:) Depending on the mileage I would change the water pump, thermostat, and fan clutch. Alternatively you cold replace with an electric fan.

You english is great! Welcome to the forum.

Put a thermostat in the car. The Mazda system is a bypass system. Not having a thermostat means you are loosing about 20% of your cooling capacity.

As for e-fans:

thx aaron cake but I want to know the best thing to do put a e-fan or putting an used fan clutch? because i dont have the car already so I can purchase one online and be patient because I have another car (mazda 626 1982) the rx7 is going to be parked until we repaired that problem. thx for the help.

A used clutch fan is cheap and bolts right on, but it may also be bad.

An e-fan will do the job but is more complicated to set up.

You have not bought this car yet? Make the current owner fix it before you buy.
