hey sorry bud :) 88 fc wich i have put a 13bt out of a luce into it have had to change lots of things only thing i have done is removed smog set up and it had twin tps and i removed mid range to suit the s4 loom do you think that could b the problem i thought it would be ok without mid range as s4 single tps is just full range correct me if im wrong?

satch 12-26-13 10:40 AM

The Green/Red wire of the TPS should read 1 volt w/key to on and the engine as hot as it can possibly get (20 minuts of driving time).

bumpyfcrx7 12-26-13 10:59 PM

i can hardly drive it. its starts sounding realy bad and drives eraticly i dnt wana do it any damage its a good motor. where i live there is nobody clued up about injected rotorz so im knee deep in it . if it reads more than a volt is my tps farked?

There's an adjustment screw encased in an inch long spring used to dial in the TPS voltage reading. And which ECU are you using? S4, S5,?? If you have an S5 engine w/S5 sensors then it should be using S5 TPS.

bumpyfcrx7 12-26-13 11:51 PM

thanx for your help i realy appreciate it! im using the n370 the motor was out of a luce it was a crate import i only could tel it was from a luce as air con was above power steer . it had twin tps its def a s4 motor it has mechanical m.o.p i removed the mid range tps as it didnt suit the s4 harnes

satch 12-27-13 09:58 AM

The S5 TPS would have a narrow range and a full range.

bumpyfcrx7 12-27-13 11:17 AM

yeah but do you think thay brought a s5 out with mechanical m.o.p?

bumpyfcrx7 12-27-13 12:02 PM

now im completly lost i brought a s4 rolling shell it had a n370 in it all ready. now i have a motor with mechanical m.o.p and twin tps this is a nightmare i just wana drive the fing

satch 12-27-13 12:43 PM

You can place a mechanical omp on an S5, but it would not use the throttlebody from an S5. Thing is the ECU being an S5 would need to receive feedback from the OMP or the car won't run properly unless the ECU was chipped to delete the electronic OMP thus allowing premix or a mechanical OMP.

bumpyfcrx7 12-27-13 02:45 PM

everything was factory on the engine it hadnt been messed with at all im sure its a s4 motor amd ive now been told the hc3s luce came with twin tps. what i want to no is if removing narrow range could b why it wont run properly

satch 12-27-13 03:02 PM

If it came that way then common sense would dictate that it needs to stay that way.

bumpyfcrx7 12-27-13 03:08 PM

i know what ya saying but my loom was for single tps maybe i need to get a s4 single tps

I'm a bit confused here. You state the TPS, which has a dual range was factory, the ECU is an S5 N370, the OMP is mechanical and the wiring is S4?

Also, I have no idea what a Luce is nor what year they were produced.

And as stated previously, the G/R wire at the TPS needs to be set as suggested.

bumpyfcrx7 12-27-13 03:49 PM

i have two n3g
18 ecus il try 1 of them a hc3s mazda luce re limited will show u on google if interested and yes im using s4 loom and i just asumed the ecu was for s4 im new to rotors so its al a lesson for me

satch 12-27-13 04:11 PM

The ECU plugs should be different between the S4 and S5 so not sure how you are currently using an S5 ECU.

And from the 2nd Gen archive:

There are stickers on the ECU that give the part code.

N326 - 86-87 NA
N332 - 87 Turbo
N327 - 88 NA
N333 - 88 Turbo
N338 - 88 Vert
N350 - 89 NA California
N351 - 89 NA
N352 - 89 Vert California
N353 - 89 Vert
N370 - 89 Turbo

misterstyx69 12-27-13 05:00 PM

can you post pics of the engine bay and the tps setup, and any other pertinent info?
This would help.

bumpyfcrx7 12-27-13 05:11 PM

yes i can i will have to do it later on

bumpyfcrx7 12-28-13 07:02 PM

i fix it !! yip put the wide range tps where the narrow was ajusted the screw to 1.5 and started it up and its runing great who woulda thought!
