cold start
I have a 88 vert when its cold the car will start but it wont stay on. I have to keep my foot on the gas till it starts to warm up. ............then its ok. I know nothing is blown and i changed my t.p.s. and it still does it.......... Need help diagnosing this.

Check the thermosensor operation.
And the cold idle operation. |
Make sure the cold start cam is not suck.
Check to make sure the BAC is connected and functional. Check the thermowax assembly and its coolant feed. |
My car does the same thing... I would check the IAC valve..

Before trying to start, you should press the gas pedal to the floor one time. This sets the "cold start cam" and produces a higher idle speed until warmed up. If you are already doing this, and still having issues, then you'll need to troubleshoot the system...

. yea it still dies out it dose the cold start but when it gose down it dies out then i re-start it and keep my foot on the gass it a lil warm and its cool like it wont die |
