Break systems

I have basically an empty FC shell, any particular brand of break systems I should be looking out for?

Had to ask because there is a difference between break and brake.

There are all kinds of aftermarket companies that make rotors/calipers/etc. They are not cheap. An internet search for FC BRAKES will pull up all kinds of choices.

Thank you, I do not know why I spelled brake that way, what’s a good quality but won’t break the bank option, looking for recommendations

welcome to the board.

it might help others to help you if you give us an idea of what exactly you are looking for.

stock parts? aftermarket bolt-ons? custom parts?

Probably something aftermarket that can fit in there without taking up to much space, don’t need anything crazy or fancy. If it can fit in there without body modification then it’s a good option, I’ve got rotors but not sure what if anything the previous owner did with them, I am guessing they’re stock. I’ll have to look closer at it when I find the time

The tricky part is ensuring you can find wheels that will work with any aftermarket brakes setup. The rotor and caliper sizing matters but is hard to determine unless you have all the parts, including wheels, in your hands. I'm not a second gen guy, but I would suggest posting the question in the second gen section to get more visibility. Those are the guys that can best tell you what works.

Congratulations on your FC shell project! For brake systems, consider reputable brands known for their performance and reliability. Some popular options include: Brembo, AP Racing, Wilwood, and StopTech. These brands offer a range of configurations, from OEM-style replacements to high-performance upgrades.
