1985 RX7 horn not working

When I press the horn button nothing happens. Some people said they would hear a click under the dash but I don't even hear that. Help? Also my steering wheel can b pulled in and out about a inch? Could this be part of problem? I took the horn off and tested it with a direct connection and work fine

welcome to the board. :)

yes, it's somewhat normal. it's normal in the sense that Mazda designed the steering column to collapse in a crash, but sometimes they would get broken without a crash. at least one of my past cars had that condition and it was unnerving until i found out what it was. if my memory serves, whenever it moved to a certain point, weird things would happen. the horn would stop working and turn signals would stop canceling, stuff like that.

that would be my first guess, but it can't hurt to check the horn relay also though.

Could you tell me where the relay I'd and what it looks like. I can't find it anywhere

try this: https://www.rx7club.com/1st-generati...-unit-1015876/

also, this would be a great time to visit Foxed.ca and download your FSM and Wiring Diagram, if you haven't already done so.
