Just checking to see how many rotary owners we have in Upstate NY. So far, any of the cruise-in's I've been to, I'm the only rotary in the lot. I'm in Oxford, NY. Anyone else on here nearby??

Im one of at least 6 in Syracuse I know if at least one third gen 4 sec. Gen on the road 5 my other one not done yet and at least 1 first gen. There out there about three of us second gen guys used to meet up but now one went back to morrisville for school but I know there's a few in roc there out there for sure.

 

anyone interested in getting a meet/cruise-in set up somewhere?

i'm in poughkeepsie with a FC, don't really consider it upstate.. but then again those from NYC seem to think anything north of them is upstate lol. (its all relative)

i'm not that far from the newburgh guy and i know there is an FD in poughkeepsie as well.

I have my 1987 but i think i needs coolant seals though. I should have it rebuilt this winter and ready to go next year.

 

I'm in the Saratoga area, about an hour North of Albany.
There are a few RX-8s around, but I only see other RX-7s with the summer tourists.

 

I'm in Hoosick Falls - 45 minutes from Saratoga. I have an '83 that I race with EMRA. I just sold my '80 street car and I'm already wishing I didn't.

 

I'm in Albany near SUNY. Got a call on Thanksgiving from a friend who spotted another FD around here. I've been seeing a decent amount of FC the past few months.

 

Anyone going to Deals Gap in April? I know of three Upstate FD's that might be going.

so it seems there are a few spread between the greater dutchess county region through the albany-ish area. we should try to organize something at some point (probably in the spring?)

 

I agree, im only about an hour and a half from the albany area. I think it it would be great to try and put something together.

 

hmm, looking at a map, if we tried to get something going that could incorporate everyone from the Newburgh area through the Saratoga springs area. the middle would be somewhere around Hudson? for this distance i'm suggesting, i'd assume this would be more of a single or annual type meet, as as apposed to something on a more regular basis.

for something more regular, the Albany area is a bit far for me but i'd like to meet anyone in the newburgh/ dutchess county area.

edit: looking again i didn't realize you were that far west murben, not sure where to try to locate something that could incorporate central and upstate. any suggestions anyone?

also, where does central new new york start and when does it change to western new york. just curious.

 

I was thinking of something annual. Looking at most of the people that posted here, im guessing that something around albany or schenectady might work?

Kind of a neat website i just found is www.geomidpoint.com. lets you enter multiple addresses and will tell you the midpoint of all of them.

I'm definitely down for a drive in the spring/summer. Anywhere within 2 hour radius of Albany is good for me.

 

My FD goes in for new paint next Spring as soon as the salt is off the roads (probably May-ish). Once I get it back I would be up for a run. Location is no issue - All depends on timing.

 

I'm In Utica and there's about 7 rx7's here that we're pretty much always together...we're gonna try to have them all ready to go to dgrr....we'll see what happens...if we could get a meet going up here that would be cool for sure....
