NoVa Mechanics/shops
Hello,
New to the NoVa area, PCS'ed in about a year ago from Germany and I need some work done on my 95 RX7, well kind of a lot of work. I would like find a shop in the local area because I will need to trailer the vehicle to them. I live in Woodbridge, VA and I would rather keep it in a 100-mile radius. Just finished scroll through the entire list of "list of all the mechanics in the NE area" thread. The thread has a lot of old post dating back to 2003 to 2013 and I do not even know if these shops are still in business or if they have moved. Out of the list, I have selected the ones within my driving distance. Wanted confirmation if these shops are still in business, if so, are they any good. Also, below is the main list of stuff I need done:
1. Engine assembly (engine is already torn down; purchased new rotors, seals, housings, ect..)
2. Tuning (for power FC, with meth kit)
3. Intercooler piping fabrication
4. Welding V-Band clamps on my exhaust system.
List of shops (in no particular order):
1. Kearney Automotive, Capitol Heights, MD
2. Alpine Automotive, Glen Burnie, MD
3. Rotary Revolution Chantilly, VA
4. PF Supercars, Frederick MD
5. Rotary Performance, Location: ?

I don't have any personal experience with this shop, but Angel Motorsports seems to have a pretty good reputation from what I've read.
Angel Motorsports

PFS is no longer open. Do NOT even bother with RP Performance. Straight up terrible. I'd be wary about shops in the DMV, I have not seen too many good shops or shops that specialize in rotary in our area.
Yea most around here just do the work themselves or trailer down to v beach or up to NJ. We are basically in the middle of the good ones with a few scattered with very mixed reviews.
Someone suggested a shop in NJ that looks to be my best answer. What's down in the Virginia Beach area?

I have used Speed 1 since I've owned my RX7, but I understand they've had quite a few changes in the last year or two.
